To be fair to the ref, the angle from behind of Keane shows him grabbing ahold of the hair and pulling it prior to winning the duel.

He may not have meant it as a violent action, but the pictures show him gripping the hair.
Right. And I'm saying, absent a clear intent, is it truly violent conduct worthy of a straight red?

I'd be hiding my eyes if a Wolves player were given a red for that tonight.

An experienced ref would’ve ignored Grealish’s claps.

It had no material effect on anything, and by sending off a second player - the most high-profile player on the pitch - it puts all the attention on the referee.

Fair enough if it’d been a bad-tempered game - but it was a million miles from that.

Two reds is mad, and that reflects on the ref as much as it does Everton.
I thought the ref had a great game before the reds as well!

Again though, a new ref in the top flight, he is going to strictly adhere to the rules isn't he?

The only thing I can think of to describe our red cards was thick. Both massively avoidable.

I don’t know what people get from piling on to our own players.

The idea what Keane did was violent conduct is an absolute joke.

What’s the argument. It’s the rules?

Armstrong had just had studs down his calf.

Anybody thinking Keane deserves a red for that has lost their mind.
Deliberate hair pulling is a red card in rugby never mind football. It is violent conduct as per the rules and rightfully so.

And yet the overwhelming majority of players manage not to do it. Adrenaline may kick in, it may be a little difficult but as a professional his head shouldn't be going like that. Especially when on a second yellow card having already nibbled at the ref a couple of times since the first booking.

Flip your argument - How often do you give a ref the benefit of the doubt as adrenaline may have kicked in? Or does it not count if they're not wearing an Everton kit?
That last line of yours is ironic... it's petulant, the kind of thing you are accusing Grealish of. RED card for you for that.

Yeah, I think his lack of experience showed as I say.

I thought he’d started the game well, too.

Yes because the rule says it is.

Again, your problem is with the rule itself, not the card. The red card is totally valid.

Should it be deemed as violent conduct itself? Eh, maybe not, depends I suppose.

And just like Sigurdsson, he sprints when he knows he won't get the ball and at no other time. And just like Sigurdsson, he receives endless praise and favouritism from his managers despite all evidence showing it is totally undeserved.

At least Sigurdsson would use both feet though. McNeil is in my personal top 10.of most hated Everton players of all time. I hate watching him.
That head down sprint think he kept doing knowing he was never getting close to the ball was very irritating tonight.
