An experienced ref would’ve ignored Grealish’s claps.

It had no material effect on anything, and by sending off a second player - the most high-profile player on the pitch - it puts all the attention on the referee.

Fair enough if it’d been a bad-tempered game - but it was a million miles from that.

Two reds is mad, and that reflects on the ref as much as it does Everton.

I kind of hope you are right to be honest because a player feigning a hair pull would be quite entertaining.

Don’t underestimate the ability of footballers to cheat. They’ll feel a brush in the barnet and be rolling around in circles.

Can’t believe I’m even having to ask that question about top flight football ffs.

By watching it in real time and recognizing what's going on with the game. Ask yourself this: why didn't the refs give Tarkowski a red after he injured Bueno? (I think that's who it was). Clearly they're able to differentiate between intent with an elbow to the face and unintentional coming together when trying to win the ball (what Tarkowski did). Why can't they apply the same distinction in this scenario with Keane?
