….i don’t mind getting beaten on penalties but not in such a pathetic fashion. I’ve commented often about how many of our players can’t strike a football sweetly, both our strikers just passed the ball to their keeper from the penalty spot.

It’s little wonder we have a goalscoring problem.

Pickford kept us in it first half, but Aznou gave us the chance to go through so he’s my MoM. Just shows you can impact games from the bench, a youngster wanting to make an impression.

You've spent the entire season saying Aznou is a bum and that Moyes has been right to not give him even a substitute appearance.

Moyes was guilty of being slow to change things and to realise that in Anzou he had a dynamic attacking threat on the bench for the entire season.

The only real mitigation is the lack of available first team players….and this is no small matter.

Almost all are starters.

Sunderland have done well and have deserved the win. Over the summer they have picked up the sort of dynamic player Everton have been crying out for.

I doubt there’s a team outside the bottom 3 that start McNeill and Mykolenko and the thats where the gap is!

Not surprised really, they won’t be arsed about getting knocked out or 31 years now of no trophies. They don’t care.

The one area the owners needed to change for the better was the mentality and culture, they clearly haven’t.

People talk about a plan, the only plan I see is the one that’s been there for decades, exist in the league and anything else is a bonus , like it was when Moyes was first here and he is revered by some for it.

If you want to sell more kits, merchandise and maximise profits then at the very least you need to have a successful team that grows interest and brings jn more fans. At this rate over the next two decades they risk that because you don’t grow a network of , as they call it “punters” by just existing. You stagnate and regress, like the team has for years.

The kid Aznou was the only one who looked arsed today and that says a lot .

The club will get a handful of decent and some unexpected results a season that will ease scrutiny and that’s your lot. It was the same under Bill.

Garner was lucky his pennon in regular time went in.

True, mate. I’d add Everton is lucky that one was even ruled a pen. I know we don’t get a lot ruled for us. We were kind of gifted that one. And Garner took the softest of PKs with that stupid hesitation step. Just bash it already.

If we had anything about us that game would have been out of sight, well before that dubious penalty. Everton just lacking everything really, not sure what to say. Definitely not here to gloat, love everything about Everton as a club and it's supporters. That was a woeful display and it's sad to see.
