Prize money on offer:

4th: £12.8m (plus gazillions via CL)
5th: £12m
6th: £11.3m
7th: £10.6m

For a club that's always skint, £700k is a lot of money. Another decent first team squad member's wages for a year (well, almost).

Sick & tired of people saying there's nothing at stake. Plenty at stake - prize money, finishing above Liverpool, small possibility of the Europa if there's a few shock results above us, a derby still to come, plus ending the season on a high.

Yeah, we all know our problems, and why the season has reached this point, but that's still no reason to give up.

the rep system has gone, so chico makes a half arsed attempt and releases the preview at the 11th hour, shoddy.

just kidding chico, come on blues i suppose. with the season over, fulham at home is one of the last games you want to play. would love to see some players like oviedo, barkley, duffy and vellios given a go, heal the first teamers properly for the derby. It's the only game left to play for really and we know these youngsters won't be given a game over a half fit osman for said game

if there was a trophy for stating the most likely event as though it means you have got some insight, then the groupspeak crew on here are the only ones going home with silverware. point is who gives a s hit whether you think it is worth it, those of us who do may be the ones feeling stupid when we play poorly but at least if Fellaini bangs a late winner in at Anfield we can enjoy it knowing we were part of it and not just jumping on the good times.

Wish everyone would stop saying this game is meaningless and to play a weak team. Whilst European qualification is for sure a long shot it is still possible and we want to finish above the shower across Stanley Park.

I don't think we will get Europa league now but how gutting would it be today to see us drop some winnable points at home against a mid-table team who really have nothing to play for & then see Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea fail to win. Whilst it remains possible you have to chase it, we can play the reserves and whoever else once all chance of Europe has gone and we can no longer get caught by Liverpool.

What absolute tosh.

for the record there were plenty of 'common sense, don't be deluded' fans going on about how Ratcliffe was rubbish, Reid was a crock, Sheedy and Steven were luxuries, Sharp wasn't a goalscorer, Heath was a waste of money. Probably the same people now going on about how they are the team to be measured against. None of this aimed at the preview by the way, my gut feeling after sunderland was it certainly felt like season was over but its a new day and this matters.

Today's game absolutely does matter. And Wigan will beat Spurs today, they just will. This is the exact time Wigan kick into gear, and that leaves us merely two points behind. Sure, they have a game in hand, but then they have to win that too.

Not giving up on us just yet.
