- Erm yeah, two teams get to the final every year. That's how football tournaments work.
- Fair point
- Right, does that not just mean that the teams who have been good enough to get into Europe are better in the league than the teams who couldn't?
Just sayin, if Fulham can get to the final one year and Newcastle can reach the quarters i don't see why we couldn't at least give it a go. We'd probably do pretty poorly away from home but i'd say our current team at Goodison would give most sides trouble.
This is the recent record:
2005/06 - 50 points - Knocked out of Europe early
2006/07 - 58 points - No Europe
2007/08 - 65 points - 10 Euro games
2008/09 - 63 points - 2 Euro games
2009/10 - 61 points - 8 Euro games
2010/11 - 54 points - No Europe
2011/12 - 56 points - No Europe
You'd think that if Europe really hurt our small squad which has been small ever since Moyes took over, that at least one of those European seasons would have us getting less points. But not even that, we actually get consistently more points when we're in Europe.
