Ever Banega

Most applications go through on appeal though dont they, the difference between this and Obinna is that we have the time to appeal we didnt last year, fully expect the first application to be rejected the appeals system tends to give greater lattitude to mitigation.

Grasping at straws here - is there the possibility that the Home Office were more hard-arsed with these rules in previous years. The successful appeals I've seen examples of are all 2009.

As I say; grasping at straws.

Like me and Uknightbreed said last night -

He'll get pulled up for his international games. But on appeal our case would be to pursuade how class the lad is, that he can improve the team and league. He's a higher rated player than Obinna, plays for a higher ranked international team than Obinna did.

But as Toccy says, because its a loan and not to buy we may have problems....unless Valencia have stick a option to buy clause, the FA know we're skint and see that its an option to make him come over here.

Blackburn Rovers striker Kalinic signed a few days ago under similar circumstances to Banega, but that was for cash.

We all know it probably wont happen, this is Everton after all, but there's a case for it.

obinna was totally different , small name player , small clubs mainly , little international experience at international A team level.

like i said in a previous post , banega has pedigree , top class clubs and football and is a well known name.

have a little faith lads.

less than 2 years ago banega was one of the brightest young talents in south american football.players of his calibre are worth paying to watch and drool over his silky skills.
add him to jo and we have 2 technically gifted young flair players who cost 35 million combined less than a year ago ...for a whole season for FREE.masterstroke by moyes ?

Don't you think the loan will work against us though mate? I'm not trying to be negative but I do feel that's the main reason we missed out on Victor Obinna.

If we where signing him permanently I think it'd go through no problem, that would convince them he is a big talent with a big future. Loaning him is a different kettle of fish though.

no , on the fa site its the same rules for a loan as it is to buy long term.

instant approval is based on international appearances - 75% in the last 2 years (injury time is taken into account) - he will fail this.

appeal - the club have to prove he is exceptional talent , a board of 6 vote on wether he is or not. - i think he will pass this easily.

I think it'll probably be the problem.

But knowing us we'll play the "we're skint" card. But what we'll probably do is pay him the wages that the FA deem acceptable etc, the only thing in the way is the fact its just a loan. I think an option to buy clause would be a big swinging point.
