It's something like that, Alio. You can still argue your case for the work permit, but you've got give reasons why you should be treated specially. I think it's simply employment law that applies. Jobs for British (or EU) workers and all that.

Thanks mate (y)

There seems so many players that I thought wouldn't meet that criteria though, interesting one? :dodgy:

Fingers crossed we can somehow get him in! Everton (the press maybe) have convinced me, we're gonna sign someone everyday over the last 50 days, lets get them to help us out, getting him a permit! :)

Dives a lot.....

Theres also the Other video, although i'm sure that Moyes would straighten him out.

Target: Banega (right) is wanted by Everton

Everton will attend a Home Office hearing in London on Friday to try to acquire a work permit for Argentina international Ever Banega.

Manager David Moyes wants to sign the 21 year-old on a season-long loan from Valencia with a view to a permanent transfer.

However, the Toffees are aware there could be complications with the application because the winger has not played in 75 per cent of Argentina's full internationals over the past two years.

Banega is highly rated having been signed by Valencia for around £15million 18 months ago, although a failure to settle meant he spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Everton will hope for a better outcome than last year, when their attempts to sign Inter Milan striker Victor Obinna on a similar deal floundered when the work permit application for the Nigerian was rejected.

Moyes is also determined to bring in another centre-back, with Middlesbrough's Robert Huth overtaking Philippe Senderos of Arsenal as the main target.

Everton still insist they have had no further contact with Manchester City over Joleon Lescott, although Eastlands sources are now suggesting former Everton defender Richard Dunne could be offered in part-exchange.

Home Office: "So why should we give you a work permit for this player when we didn't give Obinna one 12 months ago?"

Everton: "Erm...Umm...well...his name is Ever and it sounds good doesn't it...y'know 'Ever-ton'?"

Red faces all round on this I fear.

why would moyes ever wanna buy a loan player who is so complicated so sign 2 weeks before the window closes??

Ans: Its a panick buy, moyes now only hopes that his former 16 million price tag can turn up proven at everton but i fear we wont get him

Did manny have to get a work permit for his first stint here?
