7 games to go and 9 teams all in with a shout of European competitions next
season.

Placings can go down to 9th ? I think , if results of Arsenal , Villa , Liverpool Forest & Palace well.

Still a very tough call for us , but we do look well placed .

I think 3 wins and a draw from our remaining 7 guarantees us Europa league at worst for next season - tough run in, but I think it’s possible

It's so tight from 5th all the way down to 13th that it's almost impossible to predict how many points are needed for Europe. We could pick up those 10 points and still finish 10th. It's crazy. I've never seen such a packed league, points wise, in mid table at this stage of a season. The great thing is that we're part of the conversation and it's still within our control.

Will be difficult to over take Liverpool. We’d need 4 points gone the goal difference. We’d perhaps need to go 2 points for game for the 7 remaining e.g 14 points, which is 4 wins 2 draws 1 loss. Then hope Liverpool only get 10 points which would be 3 wins, 3 losses and a draw.

I think we’d need Liverpool to absolutely implode to overtake them, and we’d need to beat them in the derby and probably also beat Brentford, City and Spurs away.

We've got an excellent chance for a three point gain on them in a couple of games time. I'm never confident in the derby but they look fragile at the moment and if we play like we did yesterday they are there for the taking.

60 points will almost certainly get us top 7/8. I can see us getting another 14 points comfortably.

So it's just a matter of how far down the table the Euro spots go down to.

If we close out the last 7 games by securing 16-17 points we'll be very VERY competitive for a Europe spot.

You could probably go down to Palace with their game in hand, they win that and they’re on 42 also.

Could genuinely see us finishing anywhere between 5th and 14th the way this season has gone.

The bottom 3 have won 14 games between them and conceded 170 goals. No, that's not a typo, your read it correctly. 3 teams have conceded 170 goals between them over 30 or so games! That sort of thing normally leads to a packed mid table. It was similar in Carlo's season if I recall correctly.

As they say its the "hope that kills you" but we seem to have the bit between our teeth atm.
Players have really stepped up for this run in.
So strap ourselves in .

I think if we want any decent type of Europe we realistically need to be beating Liverpool and Brentford (or at least not losing to them) to put us in with a chance of finishing ahead of them.

I’d like to see us win the derby just because they’re terrible at the moment and we’re playing well so should be looking to beat them just like we have done against Chelsea. We don’t need to go out looking terrified of them and ending up 2 down like we did at Anfield before we realised we could outplay them easily.

Not really mate. It is a weird view to have though imo. Villa have transformed their image by getting CL footy. Nobody really cares that Brighton, Forest etc have grabbed a Europa place in recent years.

Sadly, thegame is very much about money these days and CL footy would instantly give us about a 40% lift on current (latest published figures) turnover.
