Seen quite a few on other pages and social media saying they don't want Europa league and yeah, playing Thursday's and Sunday's isn't ideal and if you haven't got the biggest of squads it can be an hindrance and effect your league form but I think it's important for us at this stage with new investment and ambitions of progressing that we are in some form of Europe!

It gets our name back out there, it makes us that little bit more appealing to players and that's the important part. We need our brand out there to be able to attract a better level of player to the club which in turn will help us to improve and kick on like we have ambitions to do.

With the funds now in place and Europe behind us we should be able to attract better players than we currently have which hasn't always been the case in the past!

Of course what you say is right , it's just that I fear we'll end up with a mediocre 11th place premiership finish next year rather than the promise of this year.

Really wish we could leapfrog the Europa places completely and get into Champions league...

why?

you just stated that you fear our squad will end up 11th with Europa to deal with, if that's the case then playing a CL campaign would see us well out of our depth and effect us even moreso

People's thoughts will inevitably be scarred by how we coped with European Football last time around, but it's there for everyone to see that the manager we had in charge was the main cause of those issues. He seems to be a manager who can only fight on one front, and that is predominantly in the Cups. He won the Cup with Wigan, and yet neglected their relegation battle which sent them down. He did fairly well with us in the Europa League up to a point, and our league form suffered. The season just gone, we did well in the Cups, and again he neglected our league ambitions.

That does not mean that our squad now, and our current manager will let that happen again.

If you take a look at one of the best seasons we had under Moyes: 2007-08, here is what we achieved that season:

League: 5th
UEFA Cup: Round of 16 - unlucky to go out on penalties to Fiorentina
FA Cup: Knocked out in the 3rd Round to Oldham
League Cup: Semi Final

So it was only in the FA Cup where we under achieved. We had a great league season, were very close to a UEFA Cup Quarter Final and got to the Semi Finals of the League Cup and were beaten by a better team.

Our squad players back then were the likes of Iain Turner, Patrick Boyle, Nuno Valente, Dan Gosling, Jack Rodwell, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan. Compare that to now (before summer signings) and we now have Stekeleburg, Jagielka, Holgate, Deulofeu, Lennon, Bolasie, McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Valencia, Lookman and Calvert Lewin as squad players.

There is no reason at all why we can't aim for a top 4-6 position, QF in the Europa, and a possible cup win in one of the domestic cups. Obviously not saying we could achieve all of those things, but that should be a realistic aim for next season with these players and this manager. No time for any excuses now we have the TV money and Moshiri helping us, and some top players in our team.

Can't wait for Thursday night games be it at Goodison or somewhere in Europe. You try finish as high as you can in the league and take the rewards or the consequences of where you finish. Been in Europe is a step forward and players see it like that too

We need experience playing in Europe anyway, understand the reasons why people would rather skip directly to the CL, but if we can't get some practice handling the fixture pile up and European style of play, we'd just get tonked in the CL group stage anyway so what's the point?

I hope we use Europe as a way to blood some of the youngsters (Davies, DCL, Lookman, Holgate, etc.). We do desperately need another good striker who can deputize for Lukaku - he can't play 90 minutes twice a week all season.

The way I've interpreted it is...

Uniteds positioning will not even effect us at all anymore.

7th is qualifiers. Above is group. Leicester win CL, and we're out.

Oh and Hadjuk Split 3rd Round, Rangers 4th Round and Inter, Ajax and someone warm in Group would be ace.

Players should be able to manage two games a week its not like it's all season either. Players say they want to play all the time so what is the problem? I know supporters like me want it, most of the best times following the blues are away from home and the further the better

Italy: Atalanta (Bergamo), Lazio, Inter
Germany: Hertha, Frankfurt, Koln
Spain: Bilbao, Villarreal, Sociedad
Scotland: Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts
France: Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux
Netherlands: PSV

That's just a boss bunch of teams there... any of those please. They're who are occupying Europa spots as it stands.

OH... and actually don't blow the Everton.
