Ofcourse it is possible but I think winning the Europa League is very difficult task...many many good teams there

Not a clue. Pretty sure the max number of clubs in it is 5, so maybe the 4th placed goes into the EL? Wont happen anyrate.

Im not sure it would affect us, think it would have a knock on effect with regards a CL place tho.

That may not be correct. As Joey stated on the previous page.

If Utd win EL and get CL, then the rules state their EL spot goes back to another nation (Eng get 5 CL & 2 EL).

However, in 5th or 6th they'd have earned EL via 2 routes: league (groups) & league cup (qualifiers)

I presume the lowest EL qualification, namely league cup & EL qualifiers, would go to another nation.

Which means 7th would actually get the EL equivalent of 6th (Eng's 2nd EL spot) ie groups

Thats not true.

There isnt a Europa spot for 6th, we would still retain the same qualification.

Fairly certain if United get their act together and finish above 6th (Imo they most likely will with Arsenal dropping into 7th) then that spot is open for EL, no?

Assuming Arsenal don't then win the FA Cup which would require them getting past Chelsea and/or Spurs.
