Because I believe the four freedoms are a truly wonderful thing, whether economically or socially, and have delivered tremendous things for us as individuals, us as a country and for Europe as a continent. In a best case scenario, leaving is a retrograde step. In the worst case scenario it sees far right groups take over much of Europe and those freedoms are demolished in a wave of hate and intolerance. That would be an utter tragedy.
Bruce the people voted out you can look at as many freedoms as you want the vote was OUT!

not people like you, politicians who represent as being democrats or the Owen smiths of this world wanting a 2nd referendum even you I think have accepted brexit will happen ??????????????????????

Joey, I've told you I'd vote for Brexit if I was an MP. You can't pretend I haven't accepted the result, no matter how many times you repeat it.

Bruce the people voted out you can look at as many freedoms as you want the vote was OUT!

Try bold and underlining it like so.

I know the referendum was advisory mate. But what idiot would put such an important issue to the electorate and then choose to ignore it? That's just asking for trouble. You yourself in a previous post said that would be tittish. Plus the Prime Minister, both before the referendum and immediately afterwards before he resigned, publicly stated that the government would stand by the outcome.

From this latest post I'm not sure what your stance is on this. Are you now advocating that we don't invoke article 50?. Or are you saying that we should issue it, but only on terms that fit in with your viewpoint and probably go against the wishes of the majority of those that vote to leave?
It was advisory the ballot paper went through parliment in favor of 6-1 - now the new PM has stated she will negotiate
Brexit why all the fuss??????????????
No one is possibly trying to undo leaving the EU are they?

These freedoms have given 99.9% of UK people nothing that they did not have within an EEC free trade area. So why do we need to be part of a USE, which is the end game in all of this. Do you not see that our freedoms, the freedom to strike trade deals, the freedom to allow into the UK those that we want, the freedom not to be dictated to by a foreign body, the freedom to set our own laws, the freedom to spend our own money as we want, are just as important.

I understand your concern regarding far right groups in Europe, but why do you steadfastly refuse to accept that it's the current path of the EU and specifically Merkel and Juncker who are creating the opportunities for these groups to grow......

Lets not forget Blair in all this - who after all was the first one to promise a referendum, who promoted nationalism via his devolution agenda and who encouraged the media to make attacks on migrants, the judiciary and benefit claimants when it suited his interests to do so.

Though as you said his imminent return probably guarantees the utter defeat of the Remain crowd, so much so that Prime Minister Corbyn will activate Article 50 right after his thumping victory.

No, but ignoring that result is full of its own dangers. Do you think UKIP and its ilk would get more votes or less if that decision was ignored?

I'm not suggesting we should ignore it mate, I think we should leave the EU.

I'm on about another posters apparent belief that people with contrary views should shut the hell up.

Did democracy cease to exist on the 23rd of June?
If we stay in the EU then yes
Politicians like Farron in my eyes as politicians are scum for ignoring the vote of the people the ballot paper was so clear it's just a case of a compromised deal which cannot be done till article 50 is signed - for some reason as a socialist its big business The Brandon's etc who are digging there heels in or celebretiies like Geldof and co
That's where the alarm bells should ring IMO!

No-one should be made to shut up - but given the way in which politics / the media have been telling us how to vote, who to vote for and who to hate I can understand why people feel emboldened to act in a similar way, though obviously they are deeply misguided to act like that.
