The ballot paper was in plain English OUT meant we were leaving the EU it was a three month campaign???
I just cannot grasp the fact you are indicating what the electorate were voting for?
Or the people were fascist or stupid oh Remain lost that's more like it!

Hahaha yeah mate because we knew exactly what would happen in the event of an 'Out' vote, the whole negotiation was pre-done.

Oh, wait?

Does the Canadian deal have free movement of people?

I've wanted 'hard Brexit' for a while. Leave the EU and single market and negotiate the UK's access to their market. I didn't vote leave to still be in the EU/single market.

No, but that took seven years, and required all of the EU states to agree to it, and was a deal that had good will from pretty much all sides. That's what we will ultimately aim for, but it'll take many years and I'd be amazed if it didn't take much longer than seven years, simply because to get unanimous agreement from every EU country after the campaign we ran to leave which basically slaughtered the whole institution would be a miraculous act.

I'd also be amazed if the deal is anywhere near the quality of that one. The EU has no incentive whatsoever to reward us for leaving, and are dealing from a position of strength. Not only that, we have to replace every free trade deal currently done via Europe, which involves massive amounts of negotiation and work - we're talking probably closer to two decades to get anywhere near the levels of trade co-operation we currently enjoy with membership to the EU, and even then we'll get inferior deals as we negotiate as one country instead of a collective of dozens.

The Remain campaign spent ages telling us that we would leave the Single Market if we voted out, so it is a bit much for them all to cry now that no-one knew that we would be leaving the single market after we voted out.

Strange how easily it is to level this with: much of the Leave campaign spent ages telling us that we would stay in the Single Market if we voted out...

The debate was about a newspaper article where the EU were just going to make an example of us for daring to vote out!
They are scared if they make too many concessions in negotiations the many countries will want the same so scrutinising our negotiations at present is stupid if this us their attitude - we can let Parliment argue for months on what we want I feel the answers from them may be negative, sign article 50 and let's get on with it that's what the electorate voted for!
Call their bluff 2 years they will be on their knees anyway Italy are making noises to ditch the Euro now!
They want the lira back their loan bonds have spiked more austerey they are against it!

If the EU is taking as hard a negotiation stance as you suggest, then surely that is all the more reason to scrutinise the negotiations, as it means the consequences of those negotiations are potentially more severe.

Negotiations haven't begun and you seem to have the strange attitude of "well, a newspaper article suggested they're going to be hardline, so let's not bother even trying". Bizarre.

Didnt some tiny bit of Belgium nearly scupper that deal at the last minute as well?

Yes that's the video he argued against.

I don't even think the EU will last another seven years.
