No one on this thread has been wound up more than me so yes I have had a bit of jovial fun today!
I have had nastiness, but took it so it's politics things do get immotive!
I have taken loads of stick all in sometimes in good taste sometimes a bit nasty it's fair enough IMO!
Which telly programmes though?

You should try reading some of the 'happy' comments from the remainers about this. You'd be forgiven for thinking we've just closed the North East.......

Like I have said from day one Pete. I voted to stay, reluctantly. This is great news, and hopefully will be a trigger for other companies to commit.

Not on here with the Remainers a good idea is to put a coat hanger in your mouth before going to bed so you will wake up with a smile on your facelol

Thing is Joey, the fact that it is news is testament to the fact that Nissan needed reassurances following the vote. That, in a nutshell, is what you seem to not recognise. The Out vote created uncertainty, which leads to fear and worry.

Lob in the "ability" of politicians to sort the uncertainty out, and that is why, welcome though the Nissan news is, it will need to be replicated, time and time and time again. Not just with companies in the UK, but pretty much every single export market that we give a fig about.

So labelling folk who do not share your Tally Ho (!) approach to the future, can get a tad irritating.

The future is uncertain. It may be ace, it may not be, but a huge amount of work needs to be concluded before any bunting needs unfurling.

Indeed. I would like to see the government state categorically that no UK based companies will lose out because of any potential import tariffs levied by the EU. We should state, quite simply, that because the EU sells more to the UK and that reciprocal tariffs would be applied then the monies received through incoming tariffs to the UK will be used to compensate for outgoing tariffs to the EU.........nice and simple, the additional tariffs, the difference between what we pay and what we receive will be used to administer the process.......

There probably isnt a CEO in Europe or the UK who wouldnt disagree Pete.

Lets hope the EU political dogma doent hold sway.

We could do with a period of reflection and the stringent anti-Brexit voices in the media and at Westminster going silent for a little while. We all know there will be difficulties, but these will be much easier to achieve without having someone consistently screaming in your ear about how bad it is or will be........

Or about how we are certain to be heading to the sunny side of the street.

Assuming Brexit does occur, why don't we just stay in the single market? Much easier.
