I don't agree Marty, and what you've stated are means to an end, not the desired end I requested, but fairplay, many haven't even attempted :)
If the EU try and bully the UK and we simply drop our corporation tax rate to 10% to make up for tariffs which is what I read was the plan then that's probably going to be a good thing.

Tariffs are something corporations wouldn't be able to avoid unlike taxes.

Similarly I would prefer more tax be in the form of VAT (even if that required more VAT class types) because income tax is too easily avoided by the rich.

It doesn't necessarily have to be neo-liberal. It's just a different way for government to raise revenue.

How can they do that then.......

Well the assumption is that UK will benefit from WTO terms post Brexit by way of increased global trade.

We have already established that the EU is not a barrier to global trade (prime exhibit Germany) therefore the assumption must be that greater trade will arise from new WTO terms.

As mentioned many times the EU has the ability to block post Brexit enhanced WTO terms should we succeed in negotiating them.

If, on the other hand, increased trade is not dependent upon new terms why don't we just trade more now?

The EU is in the WTO they stop us from trading now ask JCB who they fined for not adhering to prohibitive EU trading rules!
Hence their stance for JCB wanting Brexit!

That's as patent a load of horlicks as I've read on these boards, in the face of some very stiff opposition too

And how will that change post Brexit?
We have to get a balanced deal from th e EU it's in their words bad for them as well as us sometimes you have to go it alone to better yourself the country voted for that for me any good trad e deal will do if it's mutually fair, and stops our Polictical union with them!

Come on Joey, answer the question, if the EU are stopping JCB from selling globally whilst we are members of the EU, why would they voluntarily allow JCB to sell more under WTO terms after we've left?

The EU's stance towards the UK is likely to be more aggressive rather than more accomodating post Brexit, surely you can see that?

They did sell got fined by the EU for trading outside their restrictive trade laws!
They were fined 22 million because of EU restrictive laws in trade OK!
So there is trade outside the EU without being fined that amount!
