So what.... Some remainers on here said we would be moving into recession and were completely wrong, but I wouldn't paint all remainers with the same brush. Some remainers want Parliament to scrutinise the deal, as do I as a Leave voter. Some remainers want to ignore the vote and try to get it changed via the back door, while other remainers understand that the democratic process needs to be observed without obfuscation. We are all different.......

The pre-referendum economic predictions were based on Cameron doing what he'd said he do i.e. invoking article 50 'the day after' the referendum.

We're not in recession, as we've not done anything yet. We WILL go into recession once article 50 is invoked AND we lose our single market access by choosing the idiots exit route.

Exactly foiled by the organisation you and others think are great!

I do not think the EU is great Joey, but I know the UK economy will suffer hugely as a result of leaving the single market whilst having no alternative arrangements either for European or global trade.

Imagine your grown up children with a mortgage and kids to look after, ie big financial responsibilities. They're doing relatively well but one day they decide to voluntarily pack in their income sources to find something better, but they have no idea what they are going to do or when they are going to do it.

What would be your advise be as a parent? By all means do something new that increases your income, but don't leave your existing income behind until you know what, how and when you'll be doing in the future.

That's what the UK is doing - walking away from existing relationships with no idea what will replace them. That's why it's vital parliament puts a hold on article 50 until we know the alternatives, and if the alternatives are not better than existing relationships we stick with what we've got.

No one Denys the falling pound will cause dearer prices cheap if if we get rid of the EU in any way soft hard or boiled Brexit!

You were in the post I replied to.

I wouldn't consider losing access to the single market as 'cheap' either.

You're not engaged enough with the fiscal fallout from that possibility to care imho Joey.

It's not great that's why as a remainer you lost the vote , what a contradiction in terms you vote to stay in something that's not great".????

How about having vid of one evil that's costly have faith in Britain!

Oh I have total faith in the UK Joey, and I reckon we have the mindset and talent to make the whole thing work.

But on balance, I thought it was a pretty risky gamble given the political balance of power before the vote, and the fact that Esk can communicate far more concisely than me re the economic issues.

That, and in the build up to the vote, on my rounds it was a common conversation that I had with all sorts of folk. My own market research if you like. And, again, on balance, I found the strident Outers to be less agreeable people than the Stayers.

Not scientific, and in no way am I suggesting that Outers on here represent some of the folk I came across, but that did shape my vote as well.
