Yknow, a former (not too bright imho) colleague argued the reason they boted leave was to create opportunities for young Brits. Apparently all the Forns took 'em.
To be fair, that was the standard argument among the likes of Benn and Corbyn for years (and Mick Lynch even now), that EU membership resulted in domestic workers being undercut and priced out of the job market by horrible forens.

Sticking with that theme, chap I know was making a similar case about being undercut in the building trade. Railed against Forens doing work for £5 an hour. Which at the time was most certainly under the legal minimum wage. So maybe the problem lay elsewhere?

Who am I to say, huh?

Brexit bonus wonders everywhere if you look. Shed a tear for Tim as he begins to sell his empire to stay afloat.

Rising staffs costs?

What did the gammon faced Brexit scarecrow expect to happen when he actively campaigned to get rid of all his cheap Eastern European staff?

Cock

Are they really doing work for £5 an hour though? A couple of our friends are Polish builders and they're both doing well for themselves. While I don't speak to them directly about money, I don't get the impression that they're either working for a few quid or actively undercutting the wage of builders of other nationalities.

No, not even that argument. It was that there weren't enough opportunities full stop for youngsters. Apprenticeships etc.
It can be a correlation/causation thing though, you know? I'm sure @JimmyJeffers and @Bohemian Toffee can attest, it's a big undertaking moving to another country, so not only do you have to be pretty determined and resourceful, but I reckon you'll bend over backwards to make it work. It's a tiny sample and all, but the youngsters in our (Czech and British) family are lazy sods who seem to expect life to land in their laps. If they're up against people willing to graft a lot then it's always going to be tough.

Not legally employed ones - my point. I.e. the reason for low pay may be a slightly different problem!

Not sure I understand your point here old bean, are you saying the hideous cunning hardworking forens are to blame for a lack opportunities?

Personally I don't think my former colleague had any direct reference point (or evidence) of a cunning hideous foren denying one of her family or friends an opportunity so was talking out of her backside.

Interesting

He can stick his apology up his arse and fk off while he's doing it.

Easy to apologise for screwing everyone else over when you've had your wishlist fulfilled and everyone else is up [Poor language removed] creek. That prick can rot in hell.
