I have no data or research to back it up, but I do wonder if anyone has analysed this in respect to the changing nature of the economy. While in the past large companies pretty much employed everyone themselves, now many of the big tech firms either employ relatively few people directly and/or support the creation of jobs via their platforms. Some of these may be okay jobs, if you're an app developer say, but many are precarious, such as Uber drivers.Good read. So we still have high immigration but rather than a small government approach that is sorted out between individuals and their employer, the party of small government goes for a big government, centrally planned and bureaucratic approach. Bloody idiots.What a mess we are in!
