It's noticeable that most things posted in here aren't making a compelling case for Brexit being a raging success.

That's clearly because it's just bitter remoaners who post in here. It's not because there are no benefits to post about, leavers are too busy / bored of it to post them. Clearly.

I guess the issue is distorted somewhat by the most ardent Brexiters in this thread all being pensioners who aren't impacted by their decision in any way. That they all seem to have just washed their hands of it is quite galling though.

A mate of a mate came over with his band, recently, so I asked the lead singer (who made reference to the difficulties they have had due to Brexit, during the set) about the problems. He didn't go into too much detail but said it was an absolute nightmare, if it wasn't for a German based band helping them out with equipment, etc., in exchange for supporting them, they would never have been able to get over and play.

Still popular, but students go to Ireland now instead. Pre-Brexit, the UK was the 3rd most popular destination.

Well done Brexit, another bonus, a Tory MP writes letter and wants answers.

I help students with this scheme, the UK isn't even on our radars any more. Same for school trips, university placements and exchange schemes.

It's not just UK kids that have been deprived of all those opportunities to move, learn and improve their lives.

One example for brevity, I have an 18 year old student, straight A student, wants to study dentistry in English. Pre-Brexit that's the UK, now her options are so limited it's looking like she'll move to Germany after her exams and study there in German.

Sister in law's best friend studies veterinary medicine. On an exchange in Portugal. As you say, she'd have been in the UK if not for Brexit.

The wife specialises in EU research funding. The current mess (no clear decision made on association or garuntees on the UK side) is really detrimental to the UK science base. Both for funding and collaborations.

Which is ridiculous because for ages Govt have been banging on about making the UK scientific powerhouse, R&D being key to growth, knowledge economy etc.

Hey ho, the sunlit uplands will be along soon enough.

Is one of the worst things to come out of Brexit. Depriving young people of life opportunities. The only people you’ll see doing this now will be the super rich.
