It's always too convenient to blame "the other" for one's own failings, and our politicians did that with the EU for a very long time, so it fed into the narrative that they were the problem rather than our own government.
It's a problem with ghost enemies - at some point you have to fight them or admit they don't exist.

Well despite their mantra being they were "taking back control", they still seem keen to blame the EU, or individual countries, for things whenever possible.
Yes and the 'party of individual responsibility'.

Party of law and order - respecting the rule of law etc

At least Tory governments in the past lived somewhat to the mantra and had an ideological position that could be debated/defended.

The only interest this bunch have is in power, how to obtain it and how to cling onto it.

I think people can see through them and are tired of the excuses.

Blind you say Isabella...

No, they most certainly did. They utterly discounted the myriad ways EU membership made the lives of ordinary people better. And here is just another example of what they threw away in their rush to "sovereignty". They couldn't be told. That chap is but collateral damage in their arrogant, ignorant hubris. If he voted for Brexit himself, well, yeah, he was very blind indeed.

Rather than pissing off M People by co-opting Moving On Up for the Tory conference, maybe they could ask Kym Sims for the use of another 90s classic, Too Blind To See It.

It is really amazing the realisation that is hitting conned Brexiteers.

The below is an exchange between 2 people I know, who would hear no argument against it.

The people, they are realising, that they were conned.

The change in the mood music was actually dramatic. Economic circumstances clearly nudged the penny to drop.

How Jeffrey sells the deal as a victory for Unionism is a task Samson wouldn’t have accepted.
I fear he will keep saying 'no', stamp his feet and gurn till he gets his way (which can't happen this time). They always have in the past. It's the only politics the unDUP know. No executive for the foreseeable future with all the strikes, budget crises etc that go along with that. Hard to find words for how much I hate them!

An election in December would be a disaster for the DUP no matter how bullish they seem about it. They will be punished severely for their anti-EU antics.
