Please name the Brexit promises that have come true, please also name the benefits of Brexit. If you are going to debate against that tweet at least come back with some valid points, instead of a basic retort about being bitter and rambling. What about it is rambling? what about it is bitter?
Come on @peteblue, apart from some apparent emotional appeal to you, a lot of people on here do look forward to understanding any benefit of Brexit. I have not seen any at all. Quite the opposite, and sadly all very much as predicted. What are you seeing, really?

The tweet contained the following…’It has been 2237 days since a vote by the narrowest of margins, was made to leave the EU. Based on greed, bigotry, xenophobia, lies, cheating & breaking the law, It was the wrong decision then & 2237 days later, it is still the wrong decision now. It will still be wrong tomorrow’

So let’s debate the tweet…I’ve no idea how many days have passed since the vote, who in their right mind would keep count. He refers to the narrowest of margins, it was 1,400,000 and had A majority in both England and Wales. Then he goes that it was based on greed, yet all Brexit voters knew we would probably take a financial hit. Then he completely loses It and goes on about Bigotry, Xenophobia, lies, cheating and breaking the law which exists in the minds of the remoaners. Then with his full majesty tells us it was the wrong decision, yet I’m still happy with it as indeed are everyone I know. Then he tells us it will be wrong tomorrow based again on nothing at all, yet if we look at the arguments currently raging between Brussels, Poland and Hungary who the hell would want to part of that circus.…

That's not a lot of benefits Pete.

Any evidence to back up the claim most leave voters knew there would be a financial hit. Anecdotal of course, but I do recall being told by leave voters in my family and friendship circles we would definitely be better off, rapidly.

Which actually a lot of them have revised as a view. Agree on some of the tone of the rest of it, it's not helpful.

OK, not really answering my question.

In response to your points:

'who in their right mind would keep count.'

I doubt they did actually count but rather than saying x years and x months they wanted to add gravitas to their point by highlighting the larger and seemingly more disturbing figure. Don't think this is anything to get upset by and is just another way of saying the timeframe.

'He refers to the narrowest of margins, it was 1,400,000'

In election terms it was a 2% swing. When considering this, it is not a hard leap to accept the word 'narrowest', maybe still a bit hyperbole but it is not far off being difficult to debate against.

'yet all Brexit voters knew we would probably take a financial hit.'

I very much doubt all, but I assume you didn't mean it in the literal sense. If you meant majority, I would also debate that. The way the leave campaign was set out, there was very little in way of 'hardship', 'financial hits', the greed comment (I heavily assume) was solely aimed at the people it would not affect negatively, Farage, Johnson, etc.

'Bigotry, Xenophobia, lies, cheating and breaking the law'

'Not all Brexit voters are racist but all racists voted for Brexit'. One of the most truest statements to come out (Will Self, if I remember rightly). Immigration was used to stir up votes, that for me says that bigoty & xenophobia were weapons that were used to sway the vote in favour of leave. I also vaguely remember that they were proven to have broken the law in the leave campaign, might have that remembered incorrectly though. There were definitely lies, Farage literally admitted to the NHS receiving £300m as a lie the morning after the vote.

'Then with his full majesty tells us it was the wrong decision, yet I’m still happy with it as indeed are everyone I know. Then he tells us it will be wrong tomorrow based again on nothing at all,'

Are they not allowed to think that. You are allowed to be happy with the decision but you are yet to provide a comprehensive list of reasons as to why you are happy with the Brexit situation. I certainly accept that you are happy, but why are you happy? The tweeter did actually point out why he was unhappy and why he thought it was wrong with all the above points.

'Brussels, Poland and Hungary who the hell would want to part of that circus.…'

OK, the EU like any government organisation can be filled with in fighting, difference of opinion, red tape, etc. It has been like that since day 1 but when we were in the EU did any of that negatively affect the average person in the UK, especially to the extent that Brexit is affecting them now. Would we have been 100% engaged in this situation, who knows and how it would affected all the other Brexit negatives such as import/export laws, freedom of movement, human rights, etc., again who knows?

As you say “who knows”. What we do know is that if the U.K. government messes anything up, then it’s the fault of the U.K. Government with no excuses of just following Brussels diktats. There are still problems to resolve over the U.K./EU relationship, but no one imagined that there wouldn’t be issues in breaking up a 50 year marriage. We can pretty well do what we want, without interference from Brussels, or without having to get 27 other countries to agree or one of them providing a veto. We are a big enough country in our own right, we just have to relearn how to stand on our own two feet again….

Remember the official government leaflet that came through everyone’s front door. Remember ‘Project Fear’. We’ve had a perfect storm of Brexit, COVID and the energy and economic effects of the Ukraine war, since we left. Yet we are no worse off than the majority of EU countries and have already replicated a myriad of trade deals. A look back through this thread, which I cba doing anymore, will show you both sides of Leavers expecting a financial hit and Remainers claiming financial Armageddon…

That's not very convincing Pete.

Far lower growth and higher inflation than our competitors (including those in the EU).

Pete, you have blamed the French for absolutely everything that's gone wrong with Brexit. And that's a lot of things

Correct, I’ve blamed the French because they keep messing things up and not doing what they are supposed to because they are still behaving like children throwing their toys out. Besides Brexit, they’ll still be moaning about the Australian submarines for years….
