Anyone who passed their car test before 1997 can drive them without taking an extra test anyway iirc

Most of those people will be 42 or older, and it wasn’t right then and isn’t right now. The legislation would allow millions more people to drive vehicles they have no business being in.

EDIT: Actually from looking at it further it seems that even those people pre 1997 need driver training by law to drive those vehicles for work purposes. So this would affect everybody.

Saw this in the Guardian as well. Is poor journalism to be honest and is misleading. It’s more revealing of entitled people not taking steps to sort their paperwork out and not understanding the system.
It is a hideously bureaucratic country like and still awaiting a residence card, however the last update was these should be arriving soon.
