As you say “who knows”. What we do know is that if the U.K. government messes anything up, then it’s the fault of the U.K. Government with no excuses of just following Brussels diktats. There are still problems to resolve over the U.K./EU relationship, but no one imagined that there wouldn’t be issues in breaking up a 50 year marriage. We can pretty well do what we want, without interference from Brussels, or without having to get 27 other countries to agree or one of them providing a veto. We are a big enough country in our own right, we just have to relearn how to stand on our own two feet again….
This is the problem. I really don’t want to live in a country where suboptimally educated, neoliberal grifters are making the decisions for me.

I’m sure the French authorities are well organised. Except for not putting enough Border Guards on at Dover on the busiest holiday day of the year, and for escorting illegal immigrants into British waters even though we even pay France to keep them out…..
The French authorities cannot stop people launching boats from their shores any more than UK could stop people launching boats from Kent and Sussex beaches.
What they are doing with some success is tracking down the traffickers and confiscating equipment.
The French navy and coastguard have returned hundreds of small boaters back to their point of origin, much to the anger of residents of those coastal communities.
How can you blame the chaos at the port of Dover on a handful of French border police being a few hours late for work one morning.
it surely goes deeper than that.

Funded by Russia…hahahaha……

"UK ministers accused of turning blind eye to any Russian interference

Long-awaited report suggests Moscow influence is ‘new normal’, but call for security review of Brexit vote rejected"

Not funny at all.

Still reckon Labour won’t win the next election. Not outright anyways. Think it will be like 92.

I think a landslide is more likely than not - the system is bent, with the Tories propped up by an overwhelming backing of media outlets and money but when bent systems fail they usually fail big.

The biggest thing preventing a landslide is probably the centrists pushing Starmer in to some kind of Diet Toryism.
