It’s all about interpretation, the U.K. and It’s people have a sensible and pragmatic view ( as stated by a U.K. sensible and pragmatic person such as myself), the Eu however tend to take an extreme view which is at odds with this approach. This isn’t new, and anyone with extensive European business experience will say the same. Obviously the leave/remain political arguments draw people to one side or another, but when you stand back and ask ‘what is reasonable’ then I feel our approach is correct…..

You lost me there, I think the evidence is that there is a large enough percentage that are certainly not this to have this argument struck from the records. There is a large enough percentage of the government who cannot, in any way, be described as this to make the argument null and void.

Interprétation shouldn't come in to it. An agreement should mean exactly the same to all parties involved at the time of the signing, and kept to.
The British are so used to guidelines rather than instructions in official edicts that they can't accept hard and fast rules. Always outlines subject to interpretation, same with guidelines.
I too have dealt with continental Europeans in the past. They have no time for loose agreements and waffle, they deal in facts unambiguous and to the point.
The Germans call it "genauigkeit" I think.
This is the problem. The EU representatives know what they have agreed to, the UK delegation on the other hand think they know what has been agreed, but subject to individual interpretation.

Although while in the EU we had more of a reputation for applying rules, bothersome or not, than some other EU members, where rules might be forgotten if inconvenient.

It does not take long to lose a good reputation, sadly

Interpretation…not only by the EU but also by different countries within the EU……..

Rather than, say, agreeing a detailed treaty over Northern Ireland which puts a boder down the Irish Sea (against all promises) then saying it isn't fair because it does what it said on the tin. And refusing a Norway style maintenance of EU standards, and then moaning about miles of lories filling out paperwork, and not being allowed to take your sandwich to France.
This was not remainers making it up. It was team Brexit driving the whole sodding country off a very visible cliff.

Rock on Pete.

That cliff didn’t really exist though did it, another remainer lie…..

Oh blimey. I had quite forgotten all the benefits of Brexit...

You continue to spout unremitting bullshit.

It's a good job you are an Evertonian, or I might begin to dislike everything you stand for

There’s no need for that, we just see things differently. A mate of mine was an ardent remainer, but is now an ardent EU sceptic and a fully fledged leaver. Opinions change but there’s no need to fall out….

How's that Brexit promise going of a reduction in VAT in energy bills promised by your Great Leader as a dividend from leaving the EU ?
