I suppose that's where we differ as what is "punishing the UK" in your eyes, is simply "abiding by treaties/agreements that both sides signed up to" in everyone else's. It's hard to have a good relationship when one party lauds the "oven ready deal" one minute and then goes about breaking that deal barely a few months later. Regardless of one's policy intentions, when someone lies as frequently as Johnson does, how can any potential partner believe a word he says?Bruce I totally agree. I would like the U.K. to work with Europe on lots of things, it’s just common sense. Unfortunately the EU has absolutely no common sense. While they continue with this ‘lets punish the U.K.’ for daring to leave, they will continue to shoot themselves in the foot and we will diverge even further. The U.K. is doing ok, as I expected, and the EU are not exactly setting the world alight, also as I expected. The next EU argument and political shot in foot will be Galileo, and we will do our own thing and partner with NASA or whoever and the EU will again lose out. It’s a sad state of affairs but it’s driven by EU politics and it’s bureaucracy………
Indeed. Why would we sign up to punishing treaties?I suppose that's where we differ as what is "punishing the UK" in your eyes, is simply "abiding by treaties/agreements that both sides signed up to" in everyone else's. Things have consequences don't they? The arsing about by Brussels over Horizon membership is rubbish and suits no one, but they're doing it in large part because we arsed about over the Northern Ireland protocol. If we are to make the best of this bad job, then I'm not at all sure this is the way to go about it as it seems to be more from the Putin school of diplomacy.Indeed. And Liz Truss in charge - who makes even Johnson's spell as foreign secretary look plausible. And years more damage before an election.Things have consequences don't they? It's not especially clear what the strategy is, other than to keep Johnson in office. And Liz Truss in charge - who makes even Johnson's spell as foreign secretary look plausible. And years more damage before an election.
I do not believe many leavers voted for this shambles. And I do not think this government had any mandate from a referendum which was so close to take the extremes of the course they have followed. At times it seems a cunning plan to drive Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales from the UK , so as to ensure the tories in the remaining lump of England can never be voted out, whatever they do.

Mate you’re an everton fan.( as stated by a U.K. sensible and pragmatic person such as myself),
This is Davek, without being Davek. It’s all about interpretation, the U.K. and It’s people have a sensible and pragmatic view ( as stated by a U.K. sensible and pragmatic person such as myself), the Eu however tend to take an extreme view which is at odds with this approach. This isn’t new, and anyone with extensive European business experience will say the same. Obviously the leave/remain political arguments draw people to one side or another, but when you stand back and ask ‘what is reasonable’ then I feel our approach is correct…..
Shitty uplands.
