I’m sure they would

They’d probably demand we drop the pound though

We had best of both worlds. Membership with our own currency

Almost like we had control over our economy despite being a member of the EU

We had more control under the EU than we do now, in a literal sense the UK now decides more but to be honest there is no sense or control in anything.

Just a stream of lies and I have little to no respect to anybody who cannot see the mess that this moron and his cronies have put the country in, or at the very least they see it but don't have the balls to accept that they made a mistake and were fooled by the lies, lies and more lies.

France has a nationalised energy supply (or something resembling it), so they can simply choose to make less profit.
Nice to see a state having some actual power (no pun intented)
I thought the overwhelming majority of electricity in France was provided by nuclear as well? Fossil fuels only provides about 10%, so unless uranium has gone up as much as oil and gas, I'd have thought France would have been largely unaffected?

I believe the benefits are clear Bruce. The UK can now stand on its own two feet, and this is evidenced by the clear double foot stance now being adopted all across the UK. The UK can also point to a tremendous taking back of control, as control retrieval has skyrocketed to its highest point since the days of Churchill.

The price of electricity is internationally defined + upkeep of their nuclear facilities is becoming a problem.
This graph show how capacity has been affected by repairs & downtime. They're importing energy now, rather than exporting it five years ago.

...except we didn't...just like we don't now, or we did before.
The MacMillans - 'Events, dear boy, event's - rule still applies*

* Fuel prices, Putin,, Covid, etc, etc.

But given that France generates the bulk of its electricity domestically, why would their prices be determined internationally?
Dunno, they're needing to import more because their usual source is providing less, and therefore are effected more by the global energy market prices?
