It’s electioneering. The DUP’s support for Brexit was the death knell for their politics. They wanted the return of a physical border and ignored all sensible economic reasons.

Too late, I'm afraid. Even if we re-applied, I can't see that the EU would be keen to have us back.

Just shows how inadequate our UK news media has been. In Ireland they appear to have known it was going to be a mother of messes from day one.
Their news media and political discussions ask the right questions and push politicians on their lies and points in a way that the UK TV media just doesn't generally.
Suffice to say people interviewing and those being interviewed have to know their stuff. Anyone blustering is just ripped apart and cannot risk being shown up on national TV like this.
