God knows were it will end up, think it will be a half arsed neither fully in or out when it comes to it, might have more to do with events that are prevenient at the time, state of some of the southern EU countries economy's and are own at the time.
Nothing to do but go along for the ride with all its highs and lows.

I voted stay. With no real conviction, But its an adventure now, hope any collatoral fall out is minimal.

The Eu are currently painting themselves into a corner with this movement of people and the 'four freedoms'. We can just do a CETA agreement and be done with it. Most of the big EU players will be replaced in the next year or so anyway so we shall see if common sense prevails.......

Hmm, the world's 10th, 13th and 54th largest economies, each in different time zones, thousands of miles away versus a single market including the 4th, 6th, 8th and 12th largest economies, on our door step, the same time zone (+1 hour) and agreed terms and conditions of trade.

Which one seems the best option?

Shall we now include the USA, China and India in your figures. My point was not one of equivalence but one of volunteered support.......

This is, to be perfectly honest, 100% more nitpicky than the previous post. So they ran away from war, and instead of cowering somewhere or just seeking asylum, they came back to fight against them, for the better of Europe and the world, and they're getting hailed as something lesser because they weren't properly sent over from their own war zone/torn country?

They still got more in than the likes of Ireland, about 14-15 times more IIRC? Why aren't the Irish being slated for that then?

I can see where you're coming from, and credit to the Old Empire's Kids, but let's not make the Polish out to be some kind of jackasses that did basically nothing.

No it is not nitpicky. The contention regarding the Polish airmen was simply not correct. Perhaps you just don't understand.

And I will not explain myself in open forum...

When people say "practically half" they don't actually mean 50% mate. It's an exaggeration to make plain that something is unusually or disproportionately present.

*sigh*

Sigh all you like, dave, but the proportion of Poles in Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain was small compared to the total number. Their contribution was incredible, given that the first Polish squadron, 303, only entered combat for the first time on 30th August. They were all officers in the Polish airforce with years of flying behind them. And nearly a year of interrupted (in the sense that there was a gap between the Polish campaign and the Western campaign, and the Western Campaign and the Battle of Britain, for them) combat with the Luftwaffe. And had they not flown the MS 406, then the Battle of Britain was the first occasion that they could meet the Germans on roughly equal terms. I say roughly because the Hurricanes that they flew could not match the Spitfires and 109s for flat-out speed, and were only equal to the 110 in speed.

There seems to be a fair few who voted remain who now see that we didn't fall off a cliff and quite like the idea of giving it a go......

I dont doubt your expertise on the subject mate. But I was making a broader point to pete that Eastern Europeans did contribute to the war effort, which is indisputable.

Dave, your second sentence is, as you say, indisputable. They contributed vigorously throughout the war, including taking out Reinhard Heydrich, for which they paid a heavy price.

And having mentioned 303 Squadron earlier, it was ironic that the top scorer for the RAF in the Battle of Britain, who flew with 303 Squadron, was a Czech, Sergeant Josef Frantisek...

The above mentioned countries will bend us over and shaft us, as they know we have no other options!

At least within the EU we were a big fish in a small pond.

On a side, the thuggery which took place would have only happened with the likes of UKIP.

We are a global joke.
