There are some figures knocking about, giving the current wealth of some of the Commonwealth countries, and the growth of the likes of Nigeria and india in the next decade that dwarf the EU, might be worth taking up with them again, Nigeria has said they are looking hopefully to do more with us in the future, suppose there are a few more out there when we are free.

"Might", "Hopefully" "Suppose"

Cool. All good then.

Not nitpicky, it's factually correct, and davek shouldn't have made the bland statement in the first place if he could not back it up by facts and/or statistics.

And the Poles were not 'sent'. After fighting the Luftwaffe in September 1939, many of them made their way to France and fought against the Luftwaffe again in the Western Campaign in the Spring of 1940. As that campaign drew to a conclusion, they made their way to England and were taken into the RAF, some to newly constituted Polish squadrons, others to individual RAF squadrons. Those countries over-run by Germany had flyers who made their way to England to continue fighting; it was countries like Canada, Australia & New Zealand who 'sent' aircrew to the UK.
This is, to be perfectly honest, 100% more nitpicky than the previous post. So they ran away from war, and instead of cowering somewhere or just seeking asylum, they came back to fight against them, for the better of Europe and the world, and they're getting hailed as something lesser because they weren't properly sent over from their own war zone/torn country?

They still got more in than the likes of Ireland, about 14-15 times more IIRC? Why aren't the Irish being slated for that then?

I can see where you're coming from, and credit to the Old Empire's Kids, but let's not make the Polish out to be some kind of jackasses that did basically nothing.

Nah, they just sent an email to the queen that if she invests £5b in their business their very rich cousin will return twice as much...

145 in the Battle of Britain does not constitute half. Nowhere near...
When people say "practically half" they don't actually mean 50% mate. It's an exaggeration to make plain that something is unusually or disproportionately present.

*sigh*

Yes its good once we can ditch the EU, and change those might, hopefull

I have absolutely no doubt that the UK will, in time, be sound. Its in our DNA.

I also have absolutely no doubt that things will be painful, in the short to medium term cos both sides of the divide were fed a diet of utter pig swill on which to base their vote. I also think that the current incumbents in Whitehall/HOC will strike decent deals.

Time will tell I guess

God knows were it will end up, think it will be a half arsed neither fully in or out when it comes to it, might have more to do with events that are prevenient at the time, state of some of the southern EU countries economy's and are own at the time.
Nothing to do but go along for the ride with all its highs and lows.

Nobody is. Poland and it's Airmen played their part as well as anybody. Even when we leave the EU, I'd have no problem in letting it's people into the UK.......

Is that what I asked you, Peter?

To quote your best bumbuddy Joey - what's with that chip on your shoulder?

Your statement was indeed worthy of the several LOL responses it got, not only from me.
