Be nice if people realised this isn’t about France v England…. Three other countries are sadly represented by this excuse of a government

Use this outfit a fair bit since first lockdown as they had closed down their restaurants.
Absolute bonkers, follow up from email earlier warning about stopping some of their lines because of Brexit and cost now receiving hate mail. Some interesting links in how tariffs are now in force...

Happy Saturday!

We sent a detailed email on Thursday explaining why there have been and are going to be more price rises and shortages in the meat industry and specifically the reasons that some of the imported meats like Wagyu and USDA will become more expensive.

We received an incredible response to this email and ALMOST all our customers understood the reasons and circumstances. HOWEVER we did receive a few very negative responses suggesting that we were taking a political standpoint.

We are a business that sources and delivers the finest meats from around the world and were just conveying to our customers the reasons for the price increases and the shortages.

IN NO WAY are we taking a political stance on the outcome of BREXIT but merely communicating to our valued customers the current situation regarding the supply of our exclusive imported products.

If you feel as Steak Lovers you would like to share your views on the subject then please join our discussion here:

Click on the link below if you would like to read the email we sent on Thursday in case you have not read it and again it was not intended to be political, it just stated the facts and the effects on our customers and our business.

Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued custom.

Saw that. Grim reading. However for rough sleeping, would also say that a contributing factor would be the lack of friends and family networks. Very difficult to really gauge the full scale of homelessness as many people couch surf between friends and family.
Horrible situation to be in. What’s happening in Belarus right now is also particularly horrifying. Would love to see our government jump in and help.

It is utterly horrific. You expect barbarity from Lukashenko, but neither the governments of Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania, nor the EU are coming out of this well at all. The poor sods holed up at the border are practically forgotten about.

What’s the actual possibility of a trade war between the U.K. and EU over the triggering of Article 16.

Are we taking this to the brink to find a solution at the last minute or will one side pull the trigger…….

Seems like Varadkar is doing the usual saber rattling when it comes to negotiations, problem is that Johnson seems to be completely unpredictable. Depends who has his ear any given day.
It must be frustrating, kinda like playing poker with someone who's never played before. You've no idea what they're likely to do but there's a fair chance they'll eventually walk away empty handed.

Certainly warning shots are getting more frequent, any sabre rattling needs to be checked on either side as the situation is deteriorating with increasing violence in the North.

Seems odd that Frost negotiated the deal, past it, now isn’t quite pleased with it.

Maybe the U.K. strategy was always to beat the deadline, then look for concessions.

You can’t help but feel the EU is becoming a bit of the boogie man for all U.K. ills politically or for the great political grandstand.

Be nice if we all built a bridge and just got over it and got on with it!
