Yes, absolutely shocking. This media/business led campaign have got what they wanted. There are No petrol shortages - if people want to panic and queue for a mile then let them. Anyway the damage has been done.
Damage was done in government not incentivising business in investing home based skills. Not as if we woke one day and found ourselves outside the EU, we had a long laborious debate for years about Brexit if I remember correctly. As usual no plan.

What has any of that got to do with businesses being addicted to the cheapest possible labour source? Unless by incentivize you mean govt should be subsidizing these businesses to hire British workers?

Everything It's government that set policy and law that businesses operate in. What is happening is well predicted and documented, no hindsight needed.

Thing is the British aren’t interested in doing these jobs. We relied heavily on European migrant workers to fill these driving roles as well as farm labouring.

Then we kicked them all out as according to the ignorant Brexit types - they were sponging off the state and therefore had to go.

The remoaners as you call us highlighted this issue beards ago - but brexiteers refused to listen to the voice of reason, blinded by their own bigotry and ignorance.

Now we have problems moving fuel to petrol stations, problems moving food to shops and supermarkets, problems involving any type of logistics that require HGV haulage.

To top it all off we see crops rotting in the fields because there’s no-one to pick it.

Brexit was a disaster from its inception to its delivery, made possible by the gullible, ignorance and bigotry of the mob.

I think the issue is wages which as highlighted are far too low yes to attract British workers. And frankly at 16 per hour to have travel cross country for days on end and urinate in a bottle it’s understandable.

Stop defending greedy businesses.

Right so they should subsidize them or prevent them from being able to pay those wages - I agree.

What I do not agree with is for foreign labour being brought in on the cheap.

Farmers aren’t greedy. They barely break even every year after 12 months of hard graft.

Stop defending lazy brits

Seasonal work that requires to live in on site, nothing to do with being lazy... More to do with job security and not having to travel round the country away from family and friends.

5000 lorry driver's off 100,000 of shortages won't drive the wage down. Have to ask why British worker's no longer see it as career. Is it pay, work conditions etc.
