Bruce, scoring political points is not really the issue is it. If the Protocol works for everyone, then fine there is no issue, but if it doesn’t then it needs to be addressed. Just saying ‘but you signed it’ doesn’t really fix anything does it. If it can be made to work then fine, but if it can’t then it’s the height of stupidity to continue with it….

Is it ok to ask why Johnson signed it then?

Scoring political points is the only reason Johnson signed it.
He gladly threw unionists under the bus when they were no longer king makers.
He did it to save his own political skin.
Now he's dragging his heels on his own agreement because he knows his supporters, like you, don't really care if he does.
He strikes me as someone who has no plan and just takes the path of least resistance at every turn. Hardly the way to run a country.

To be fair, and he won’t admit it, but Pete knows this full well.

He knew he had to get a deal done…unfortunately because of May and Oily Robbins, it was setup as a bad deal. Personally I would have walked away and gone to WTO, an absolute clean break. Boris tries to give balance and tries to be fair, but this is not how the EU works, so he was stitched up and only now realises what he has done. Even now I wouldn’t bother with article 16, just rip up the whole WTA agreement and get on with our lives. The EU is a contemptible body, responsible to no one, not elected, and does not feel the impact of its decisions, they have their jobs from which they will not be fired and they have their pensions. They are picking fights and arguments purely because they can……

You'll have to forgive me if I've missed the government coming out and saying "you know what, this deal we told you was great is actually rubbish and we're going to have to ask the EU to renegotiate it so it's less rubbish", because all I've heard is akin to "this is rubbish, we know we agreed to it but we didn't expect the EU to actually uphold all we agreed to so we're now going to try and break it".

You can appreciate the difference?

Of course, it’s the difference between ‘good faith’ and bureaucratic nonsense…….

Pete, I’m sure you would say just the same if it was the EU complaining that it needed changing and the U.K. govt were happy with it. Wouldn’t you?

Actually I would. As I said earlier, their are two single markets, U.K. and EU, unfortunately the EU appear to believe that ours doesn’t count. Putting all that aside, it needs to work for the U.K. and EU and also for NI and ROI, if any part doesn’t work it should be sorted…all business and trade agreements need both sides to be happy for them to work without conflict…..

Are you happy with the protocol, yes or no…..
I don't think you are paying attention. I said that you didn't answer one word of what I wrote. You have replied with a question. I think all Tories are programmed to just chat wham. They never deal with what's in front of them. Keep on with your Poundland Johnson parroting, @peteblue...

Yes, I replied with a question, are you happy with the protocol, yes or no…it’s a very simple question…but of course you will not answer……
