Very well thank you.Great time mate, as always.….you ??????
Didn't the EU suggest labels with 'uk only' as a compromise, which was rejected by the grifters in government? There are two single markets, The EU and the U.K. Yet the EU believe they can interfere with goods from the rest of U.K. to NI but the U.K. has no say in goods from rest of EU and ROI. The GFA works both ways across the border not just one way.
The deal should never have been signed because the EU continue to use it as a means to interfere in the U.K., and even now are demanding EU personnel to operate in Gibraltar.
The protocol isn’t working because the EU don’t want it to work and they never have. If a deal doesn’t work for all parties it should be ripped up and rewritten, or just ripped up and everyone walks away….
Pathetic. Johnson and Frost took personal credit for releasing the logjam of Northern Ireland. These people should be nowhere near the seat of power if they cannot accept responsibility for what they did and stop playing games with the DUP. Dont forget, the majority of voters in Northern Ireland voted Remain. It's one thing telling lies to the British public (reneging on manifesto committments, 350 million, one rule for the government and another rule for the people etc), but trying to renege on international agreements is another completely. Johnson, Frost and the lamentably bad Brandon Lewis need to grow up and get a grip. The protocol is here to stay. There are two single markets, The EU and the U.K. Yet the EU believe they can interfere with goods from the rest of U.K. to NI but the U.K. has no say in goods from rest of EU and ROI. But it was the deal that was signed and lauded by your leader as being a great deal for the UK. Indeed, that was the basis on which it was rushed through parliament in order to win the general election. Perhaps if they didn't deliberately try to limit parliamentary scrutiny by proroguing parliament and then giving MPs less than 24 hours to digest it, we wouldn't be where we are, but this is the man you backed. This is the man who you said you would scrutinise fully when the EU can no longer be blamed. Yet here you are, blaming the EU and not Johnson. There are two single markets, The EU and the U.K. Yet the EU believe they can interfere with goods from the rest of U.K. to NI but the U.K. has no say in goods from rest of EU and ROI. You'll have to forgive me if I've missed the government coming out and saying "you know what, this deal we told you was great is actually rubbish and we're going to have to ask the EU to renegotiate it so it's less rubbish", because all I've heard is akin to "this is rubbish, we know we agreed to it but we didn't expect the EU to actually uphold all we agreed to so we're now going to try and break it".Bruce, scoring political points is not really the issue is it. If the Protocol works for everyone, then fine there is no issue, but if it doesn’t then it needs to be addressed. Just saying ‘but you signed it’ doesn’t really fix anything does it. If it can be made to work then fine, but if it can’t then it’s the height of stupidity to continue with it….
Speedy though Bruce. We did it quickly and with fleet of foot. Nobody said it could be done and in such a short time frame! You'll have to forgive me if I've missed the government coming out and saying "you know what, this deal we told you was great is actually rubbish and we're going to have to ask the EU to renegotiate it so it's less rubbish", because all I've heard is akin to "this is rubbish, we know we agreed to it but we didn't expect the EU to actually uphold all we agreed to so we're now going to try and break it".
You can appreciate the difference?
Pete, I’m sure you would say just the same if it was the EU complaining that it needed changing and the U.K. govt were happy with it. Wouldn’t you?Bruce, scoring political points is not really the issue is it. If the Protocol works for everyone, then fine there is no issue, but if it doesn’t then it needs to be addressed.
