What is bunkem is the ‘global warming’ computer modelling telling us what will happen 50 years from now when they cannot forecast tomorrow’s weather.
lol Obviously 2 separate things entirely.
I am perfectly happy to go along with any measures to reduce carbon emissions. I don’t know why people wouldn’t be. Sure I may be wrong but me being wrong is far less harmful than taking no measures and you being wrong.

Climate change is not bunkem, it happens all the time, always has done, those of us of a certain age remember being told we were entering a new age age back in the 60’s. What is bunkem is the ‘global warming’ computer modelling telling us what will happen 50 years from now when they cannot forecast tomorrow’s weather. But of course it’s all our fault for firing up a bbq while totally ignoring the effect of that big yellow thermonuclear device sitting in the sky. Then we get carbon emission trading, where once again someone is making money from it. Now we have this arrogant diktat from the EU which you know is all about a new type of trade barrier dressed up in green credentials. Just ask the question… “who will make money from it”…..

Lol jesus christ

Of course we should take measures to reduce and clean up the planet. But this is just a trade barrier dressed in green clothes… If the EU was really serious they would tell Germany to get rid of their 70+ coal fired power stations…but we all know that will never happen….

So you'll presumably be opposing all of the measures your own government is taking to tackle something you evidently believe is purely natural and there's nothing we can do about it?

Bruce, I’m quite happy making the planet cleaner, but have you noticed everything comes with some form of tax. Labour told us to ditch petrol cars and drive diesels, now we should ditch diesels and drive electric. What’s the betting that when the government start to tax electric similar to diesels someone points out that electric produces more carbon emissions due to coal and gas fired power stations, the mining of rare earth materials, disposing of batteries, production of chargers etc etc etc…..one day when we get nuclear fusion powering everything we’ll be fine, we can all jet off to Mars for a holiday and dump rubbish on Pluto…at least that will be the new fairy tale…..

Perhaps it would be better listening to scientists rather than politicians?

I think the tax element of climate change is a by-product of climate change rather than the reason for it being 'hyped'.

It's a real thing, it's largely man made. The only questions remain how bad it will be (probably mid-range of existing predictions), is there anything we can do to stop it (almost certainly not unfortunately due to geo-political realities) and is there anything we can do to mitigate/address the problems it can cause (which is where I think we should be focussing more on).

To just say climate change is bollocks because we can't accurately predict weather is a fundamental misunderstanding of what climate change actually is.

Germany has introduced a law to get rid of coal by 2038. Now, you could very well argue that they should be aiming to do so sooner, but they are aiming to do so. It should also be said that Germany invested heavily in the likes of solar at a pretty early stage, and this has undoubtedly played a big role in the price of solar energy coming down quite as much as it has.

Climate and weather arent the same thing. Only a real moron would conflate the two.

Meanwhile they are looking to bring in gas from Russia…..no idea why mind….

Nobody has said Climate change is bollox….

Mostly I would agree with this, but unfortunately just like economists they cannot agree. And before you say ‘most’ agree, in science I find that disturbing because the greatest scientists tend not to be part of the crowd….,that’s where the second raters are….
