Succession of poor PMs making decisions about Brexit. Cameron, May and Johnson.

So we are now where we are...

A Government claiming unforseen circumstances from a deal they negotiated and signed, fir circumstances that were entirely foreseeable, which were pointed out to Government and leave voters and were dismissed by Brexiter politicians as "Project Fear".
All very noble but the last elections since the Brexit vote - Boris has returned taking safe seats v pro remain candidates -
Like it or not we voted out - plus a Tory government has returned with a huge majority - not to my liking by the way, plus since then the EU has treated the UK with disdain....
It has not helped either way TBH ... any way I will stay off this thread ;)

The EU has asked the UK to adhere to agreements the UK signed and lauded as victory.

That's not treating the UK with disdain.

5 years into Brexit and the Government is looking for people to highlight the opportunities it can bring - you should definitely apply!

Hey, that was a big document and unfortunately the night they were supposed to read it they had to visit friends, catch up with the Eastenders omnibus/wash their hair. All very important stuff. You just have to appreciate sometimes life gets in the way of doing a good job.

An now, as a country we are arguing that conditions we negotiated, agreed to and provided an explanation for in our NI protocol explainer

and included an entire Article into the WA about (Art.16) we're unforseen and we shouldn't be bound by them lol

@Joey66 "the EU is treating the UK with disdain"...

It was the Christmas nativity hunt or something that needed organising. Sadly as we've seen here with Joe, the very people who voted for us to follow this path are now not interested in holding the politicians to account for the promises they made. As they don't have any stake in things it doesn't bother them one bit.

Well, at least they're thinking about banning coal fires. That'll get him energised.

Thought the Commonwealth were going to save us?
Don't worry, after years of giving them massive subsidies, it's time for us to give people with millions of pounds of assets their Brexit bonus:

Older farmers will be paid to retire under a UK government scheme to bring new blood into the trade.
The average farmer could receive a lump sum payment of £50,000 - capped at £100,000 for farmers with most land.

Thought the Commonwealth were going to save us?

If Australians can produce beef etc and pay to ship it half way around the world at a price lower than the U.K. can produce it, then our farmers need to get their arses into gear. I haven’t heard any moaning from the farmers around by us. The real issue is not the price but the unlimited volumes, as this will be what the USA, Brazil etc will then ask for, and that could get a bit tasty, but even then it will give our farmers the opportunity to send quality produce the other way....
