Depends on whether they want U.K. bands and orchestras performing. If they do then accommodations can be made, and if they don’t then just continue as is......

Soooo, the extension to that rather daft comment would be for the EU to treat UK musicians differently to any other musician or person from the ROW?

We knew the rules when we left. You were just not told.

Well the visas. And the time they may take. And the ability to literally do it the next week.

And then the cost that visas might (I have no idea) be.

Not a clue if that all has to be repeated for Holland and Belgium, or if they would have an EU visa. Have a feeling that wouldnt be the case.

Great, another big win.

So visas....

Supply and Demand. If the EU does not want U.K. bands or musicians then fair enough. If they do then they should either accept that they need to make life easier, or they simply won’t get them...at this point in time it really is their choice....

It was a surprise to me. But then I read the report.

Gonna ignore the Covid point.

No idea if European musicians need to spend more time and money coming to the UK now. That said, the great orchestras aside, I struggle to think of that many European bands who were broken in the UK market. Nena perhaps.

Music, pop/rock, is one the greatest things we offer the world. Now, we have made it harder for the musicians to do live work in Europe.

Is that a good outcome?
I think A-ha broke up and Demis Roussos is dead. Nena didn't break in the UK either, they were huge in Germany before they re-recorded 99 Luftballons in English.

It's quite entertaining watching the Gammons tie themselves in knots in this thread, trying (and failing) to defend their mistake. Well, it would be, if it wasn't for the mess their hubris has caused.

You dont get it do you?

We are not talking about Adel or Ed Sheeran.

Its the ability of UK bands to get out there. On the back of my lads tour, they got bookings for a Canadian tour.

If only you had been around in 2016 to explain everything I’m sure Remain would have won the day....

I think you are confusing marketing with the practicalities of performing. Did they have to get visas to perform in Canada or was it all so complicated that they called the whole thing off.....
