I have no problem with 3rd country rules, but we allow the EU to take the same product from the exact same waters, so once again, what is the difference, what is this new health risk.....
There isn’t one, it’s merely the rules for a 3rd country and a direct and known consequence of leaving the SM & CU, that’s it.

Same as all of the other hoops we’ll have to jump through as a 3rd nation, not least of which - the rules of origin, which will singlehandedly end the U.K. being the home of any form of distribution hub for multi nationals seeking to supply the U.K. and European market.

The wins keep stacking up. But Borneo or something.

Why can't we just sell the shellfish to Albania? Bloody lazy remoaning fishermen.

If only it was just the fish. Some of the figures I've seen in the last week were quite amazing, all for things that weren't required previously.

Is it just me or the leavers here are now ignoring the facts and not voicing anything at all regarding fishing?

Fishing was one of the major arguments for voting out, or that's what leavers liked to peddle, seems there was no real substance on fishing a red herring!

Hahahahahahahahahaha. Good one.

Just reading about the bureaucracy involved with the pig industry. Apparently if they go via Holland the myriad of paperwork has to be filled in using a red pen, and if via France using a Blue pen. I think we should make cheese imports from the Eu be done in Blue on the first page, Red on the second, the top half in blue on page 3 and the bottom in Red, then...then, make them use a Green pen on the last page.......

It's almost like you didn't know what you voted for when you wanted to leave, or indeed what you backed in terms of the trade deal your party negotiated.

It’s a strange old thing about the fishing industry. As Bruce has been saying all the way through, as a % of GDP it’s minute, but it’s very emotive and people do care about the folk who go to sea and the towns dependent upon the product. If the EU persist with trying trying to make things stupidly difficult, which I’ve no doubt they will, then we need to get behind the industry and pick a few EU products and do similar....

Don’t be silly Bruce, did you know about the Red and Blue ink. It wouldn’t make the slightest difference to a vote, but just further highlights the nature of this protectionist bloc. We will learn and the EU will also have to learn if they wish to sell us their goods....

No, of course, I don't know much of anything about the EU, which is why I felt it was important to listen to those whose very life is spent studying it rather than dismissing them as having no more standing in the matter than Joe down the pub.

Telegraph...

“ Brussels has been told to drop its “indefensible” ban on the export of live UK shellfish to the bloc as a senior French MEP told the European Commission the move “doesn’t make any sense.”

George Eustice, the Environment Secretary, on Tuesday accused the European Commission of U-turning on previous reassurances that British fishermen would still be able to sell unpurified molluscs to member states.

He added that there was no legal barrier to the trade continuing after Brexit on animal or public health grounds, and that the UK was simply asking the EU to abide by their “existing regulations and not seek to change them.”

His comments were echoed by Pierre Karleskind, a French MEP who chairs the EU Parliament's fisheries committee, who told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: "The fact is the UK waters didn’t become dirty on December 31 at midnight, so this really doesn’t make any sense.”

More Project Fear lies uncovered as fact. No doubt another strong letter will be penned from Tory HQ demanding the EU immediately cease implementing the terms of the deal Johnson signed up to, or else. To be Published in the Telegraph of course, presenting to their cult followers that it is the EU being dastardly once again.

The boss of one of Britain's big retailers says Brexit has turned out to be "considerably worse" than he feared.
Peter Cowgill, chairman of JD Sports, said the red tape and delays in shipping goods to mainland Europe meant "double-digit millions" in extra costs.
He said told the BBC JD Sports may open an EU-based distribution centre to ease the problems, which would mean creating jobs overseas and not in the UK.
