You didn't expect a global power to advance their own interests, at a time of economic loss from Brexit and during a global pandemic?
Harsh realities of project fear becoming reality, could very well be America China or India the list goes on. Looking like more people actually believed we could actually have our cake and eat it, no hindsight required that would be just hapless.

TBF this is a drug company; it is the sort of thing drug companies have historically been accused of.
Aye the Leopard and it's spots.

Oh Look, the EU has put a border between NI and the ROI...that didn’t take long....

“The EU has temporarily overridden a section of the Northern Ireland Brexit deal as part of its export controls on coronavirus vaccines.
The EU is introducing export controls on vaccines made in the bloc, amid a row about delivery shortfalls.
Under the Brexit deal all products should be exported from the EU to NI without checks or controls.
But the EU believed this could be used to circumvent export controls, with NI becoming a backdoor to the wider UK.
It has therefore invoked Article 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol which allows parts of the deal to be unilaterally overridden.

In a new regulation the European Commission states: "This is justified as a safeguard measure pursuant to Article 16 of that Protocol in order to avert serious societal difficulties due to a lack of supply threatening to disturb the orderly implementation of the vaccination campaigns in the Member States."

That's what big boys or girls do, they kick us little ones around. But rest assured we have our sovereignty, is that not the mantra anymore?:coffee:

The EU have made a dogs arse of this whole vaccine thing. Now they’ve effectively created a hard border between NI and the Republic.

They are late to the table and are now panicking due to internal pressures.

I just hope they see sense and rescind this decree.

Absolutely no chance. They will just keep digging...and the more of them that get involved, Macron, will mean they try and tough it out......

You know I’m pro EU. But they’ve really screwed up here.

Massively over-stepping the mark. Whatever happened to diplomacy?

I made a similar comment the other night. They could have resolved all this with a few phone calls , one to Boris, one to AZ, and asking for a favour. But they’re arrogant and believe that everyone will bow down to them. The EU always seems to be led by a ’President’ that is a failed politician in their own country. They get power mad and haven’t a clue how to wield the power they have. Pure bullies and they know no different......
