Yes we are. Any supply from UK facilities not contracted for UK consumption is unaffected. There's been nothing to suggest that isn't the case. If we had, it'd be publicised far and wide.

However, clearly, the bulk of EU contracted allocation was from EU facilities, hence why they're badly affected.

The contract they signed isn't invalidated - it said all factories could be used to best efforts, and obvious "best efforts" doesn't mean breaching an earlier contract to meet theirs.

Would it?

I’d have (even with this lot) assumed not, but the secrecy, this clause and the ban on other meds makes me wonder.

edit: the invalidation bit was in relation to section 13.1 (e):

This is where the EU seems to be going now hence their angry reaction...
I mean anyone suggesting AZ with all the money its received from the UK government is acting entirely independently needs to give their heads a wobble.

Yeah because deliberately screwing over a potential consumer base of 7 to 8 times larger than the population of the UK is a smart thing to do.

There's a reason Brexit was a terrible idea - it's because we're the smaller market. Much smaller. You can't just pick and choose as arguments when it suits, especially conspiracy theories with no evidence.

You have to remember that Oxford and AZ are doing this at cost and with no profit. Pfizer are selling at about ten times the AZ price, so at least Germany is making money. When no profit is involved, a much bigger ‘market’ is not exactly a must have......

TBF this is a drug company; it is the sort of thing drug companies have historically been accused of.

Presumably like many on here I'm pro-EU on balance, but this whole thing really does highlight some of the fundamental flaws it suffers from.

When you say you are pro Eu what do you mean. I am pro European countries in the main, but detest what the EU body in Brussels does and behaves. Do you mean you like Europe or the EU body.....

I like both, just to different degrees. I support the idea of a body that encourages greater European cooperation and open markets, but find much of how the EU operates deeply frustrating.
