I am in Australia and work for a government department that has a lot of interaction with mail being shipped around the world. We see a lot of returned mail from the UK due to the charges that were being levied on the goods being sent to the UK. These would often include gifts between family/friends etc even those of low value.

Often the processing charge would outstrip the actual tax being levied on the goods and would often be on very low value goods. There didn't appear to be a value under which no charges were levied but it also appeared to be quite haphazard in its implementation.

So while this used to only affect Non EU goods being sent to the UK now it includes everything and will also apply in the other direction.

Brexit: Nissan commits to keep making cars in Sunderland - BBC News

In fairness this should be considered good news for Sunderland.

However, its important to keep in mind that many big companies have been holding back on investment and strategic decisions simply because of uncertainty of Johnson and his Government Brexit deal...

Indeed, it does not necessarily mean that these are good decisions as a result of the Brexit thing just that a delayed decision had to be made once this faze of Brexit had concluded.

There are a number of 2021 decisions seeping out that just simply have to happen in some form regardless of Brexit. Not at least the massive fall in all car investment manufacturing in the UK since voting to leave.

My analogy to my kids 5 years ago, on UK voting to leave, its like losing £20 note, and being over the moon you found £5 note the day after, that's Brexit.

Just been told I can’t keep my U.K. bank account open after moving to the EU cos of Brexit where’s this was possible before. Pretty big inconvenience for me as I wanted to keep this active for various payments and sales.
May seem like whinging over minor things to the brexit boys but these minor things are adding up pretty fast.
Oh dear. I have a UK bank account. Best check what's going on there. Who were you told that by if I may ask? Someone in the UK?

Just come off the phone to Barclays. They’re doing country by country so could take some time but was told it would definitely happen. Residents from Italy and Estonia have already had their U.K. accounts closed. Got told I’d be given 2 months notice
