I think it is. It was in response to someone pointing out the small minority of right wing idiots in the Tory party. I was pointing out that there are left wing idiots in the Labour partyPretty irrelevant in this discussion.

I don't know why I come in this thread sometimes mate, but all I can say is that it is addictive.
I know it is going to be full of articles and links to social media that are going to paint Brexit in a bad light. The forum is heavily pro Remain so that's understandable. Many of the links have merit. many don't. As somebody who voted Brexit I feel I should highlight the ones I don't believe have merit but like to think I remain balanced by criticising it too when it things go wrong.
I understand why many people would have voted Remain and have never ever questioned their decision to do so. I also have come to accept that they will continue question Brexit and post stuff that show it up in a bad light.
What I do find difficult to understand is why everybody is so quick to assume the worst. For instance, that Hannen article is a known euro sceptics point of view, but posted in a way that suggests it will all come about, when the reality is that none of us know whether it's even been discussed yet. You say you don't see it that way but to me it is absolutely obvious. So when I question it I get bombarded with posts left right and centre. One of them actually had a point and I acknowledged that, as I always do.
But basically I'm coming to the conclusion that we look at things and see them completely differently. Hence my comment abut speaking a different language sometimes.
Small minority? Majority of the cabinet are right wing idiots.........as are a goodly amount of "Labour" PLP members.I think it is. Is all fair comment and had you made that post i would not have had any reason to question it. And as I said, it was a mistake to have linked your earlier post which was merely stating what I already had acknowledged myself. To be fair, you quoted half a dozen people on the Hannan point, including me, so you can’t be too surprised if people then respond to you.
For the avoidance of doubt, I’m not making a claim that this (the revocation of consumer/ worker rights) will definitely happen, 100%. It’s speculation, of course.
But it’s been widely speculated for years that a part of Brexit will be the erosion of certain rights, under the banner of ‘deregulation’, and Hannan isn’t some random, unknown blogger, he’s a PM appointed life peer and has been a leading voice on Brexit, with some influence in the corridors of power.
So I’d be entirely unsurprised if many rights were ‘revisited’ in the coming months. But again, this is speculation, it’s not something I believe with 100% conviction or logical certainty, nor am I asking anyone else to believe it either.
There will be little change for now, but given Hannan's views on reducing regulation, I wouldn't be at all surprised if data protections aren't also reduced in order to make Britain "competitive". That is certainly what the tech companies will lobby for. From Ireland

But data protection lawyers say there will be little change in how Google’s UK user data is protected, if the UK continues to implement GDPR, says The Times. The UK took GDPR into its own law when the EU brought it in, meaning GDPR protections may not be affected by Brexit.

Or is it that having insisted on the EU acting as a common facilitator, Germany snaffled their own supplies like they did with not allowing ppe to be exported while Italy was in dire straights......oh and wonderful France has now done about 7,000.....impressive huh.....

For my part, I'm not confident that there will be no changes at all to the various laws discussed. However I am convinced there will not be substantial or significant changes as i do not believe the UK voting public will stand for it. If there are, then I'll be the first to hold my hand up and say I got it wrong, but the Tories must know they'll be signing their own death warrant if they take things too far. I just can't see them being so stupid.

I'll go back to the 80s when I was involved. Derek Hatton, tony mulhearn, Terry fields had many a run in with them. It was their view and no one else mattered. If you weren't with them you were an enemy a class traitor they would try and intimidate you and make your life hell. Blame them and others like them for getting Thatcher in power for so longSmall minority? Majority of the cabinet are right wing idiots.........as are a goodly amount of "Labour" PLP members.
Define a "left wing idiot" please. What policies do they espouse, and who are they?
Because, as the article says, while the Commission has collectively procured and approved the vaccines, the job of getting those vaccines in people's arms are down to national governments. The Czech government, for instance, have only just published their vaccination plan. I think I shared it previously, but this article provides a decent overview of the state of play across EuropeYes Bruce, I understand that the EU have made a complete Horlicks of it, but why the disparity in the numbers.....
