Agree with most of what you say. Don't think it was the public who wanted a vote. The Tories had been infighting over the EU for years. Major had trouble. Cameron had trouble but did the stupid thing and went for a referendum. It should never have happened. Just endless arguments now. Myself I say after 5-10 years it will be a good judge if it was worth it or not. In that time demographics will change. If there has been no benefit I can see a pro EU government being elected ( hopefully labour will get it's act together) and advances being made to rejoin

The U.K. and the Political establishment wasted so much time and effort arguing about Europe, vetoes and laws. Perhaps now they can get back to the real job of growing this country again.......

UKIP won nearly 4 million votes in 2015.

Charlie Falconer moaning about not having enough time to review the doc’s, ‘how can this have happened’...and now says the Lords should vote for it.......

Lord True, Cabinet Office Minister.....ripping the Libdems for their gloom and doom and Labour for lamenting not have more Eu.....quite a nice round up tbh.....a historic debate...compliments to Lord Frost...achieved what the British people twice demanded...this is a really good, detailed, yet humorous speech...vote for the future, not a vote for doubt or a vote for no deal.....

Oh look, the UK will still be sending the EU money to participate in schemes that clearly benefit us. Do we have a face palm emoji yet?

Yeah but Sovereign herring that we don’t eat or something.

I actually read one of the right wing talking heads espousing the notion that we should be force feeding herring to kids at school and as hospital food the other day. It was the win I was waiting for. Force feeding oily boney fish to kids and the infirm - stick that on the side of a bus.

The power grab started by May is now complete.

The Lords have debated and voted on the bill, it will return to the Commons for it's third reading.

The last Parliament and current Parliament have made a right hash of Brexit in terms of Parliamentary sovereignty being kept intact.

Henry VIII Clauses firmly places power into the Royal Prerogative side of the constitutional coin.

It might take a while before people realise what's taken place and just how little they can do about it going forwards.
