Absolutely nothing wrong with changing your mind when you see the sorts of outcomes we're seeing now. I thought Trump was a good idea in 2016 ffs and look how that turned out

But Brexiteers, more than anyone, should be furious with their government right now imo. They should be demanding more. Brexit wasn't a fundamentally terrible idea, but the campaigning, planning and execution has been absolutely shocking by any measure. @peteblue, bless him, only cared about a Brexit win and is evidently not arsed if it shakes out good or bad. His refrains amount to "we won, nar nar narnar nar". But it's people like him, who are utterly incapable of criticising the current administration and think Bojo can do no wrong even as he jumps from one failure to the next, who will ultimately contribute the least to any success this idea could potentially have.

Nobody wants this to go badly, but there needs to be some answers, some sort of strategy and action, and soon. Instead, people are being told "we're sovereign now" and "just wait and see". Where is the plan?

If you think I did not criticise the May administration you are incorrect, as she and an inept and europhile CS cabal pulled every stunt possible to not leave the EU. Boris has been in power for a year, won a general election based on leaving the EU, renegotiated the WA (which everyone said couldn’t be reopened), exited the EU at the end of January, set up Frost to negotiate a deal, got hit by the worst pandemic in living memory, caught it himself, had to deal with the pandemic and the Brexit negotiations in parallel, all the while being stabbed in the back and the front by Labour, the SNP and the gaggle of Europhiles. The government replicated the previous EU deals with 60 countries (again it couldn’t be done) just for fun. He’s now got a deal, passed it in Parliament, and now has two Covid vaccines at his disposal. Now if the NHS and government cock up its distribution I will certainly give him stick, but so far I think he’s doing OK in the circumstances.....

Make sure you get a good lick of his balls while you're down there.

it's like an episode of black mirror in here today!

The hypocrites went in two by two
hoorah, hoorah,
The hypocrites went in two by two

the hypocrites went in two by two,
Prevenger and tsubaki too
And they all posted a u turn or two
For to get out of their pain......

In terms of a state like the US, possibly - however I don't think a state with common legal standards, common defence, common foreign policy and at least harmonized tax / social standards would be out of reach, at all.
I totally agree, the main sticking points for Ireland would be a common defense and harmonized taxation but as the EU has shown with the Euro and Schengen, you can move as fast or as slow as you want. I don't see this as a corrosion of Irish sovereignty anymore than NATO membership leads to a corrosion of UK sovereignty.
Maybe the time to vote out would have been when the possibility of a nation state was a very real consideration rather than a hypothetical.
When it came to the EU, the UK had its cake and was eating it.
Tomorrow, you throw that cake in the bin!

I'd stick to the ridiculous eulogies if I were you, or at least learn to rhyme (and find out what hypocrites mean).
