We have left only Remoaners are keeping this thread going .......

Nearly Joey, nearly. Just a few days left. We are having a party at 11.00pm on New Year’s Eve and Boris has closed all of the pubs to make sure we attend. It’s quite good in here at the moment, watching everyone trying to prove that the Eu have three more fish than us, or some such. Anyway the thread can finally be closed on the 1st Jan 2021.....

But then surely we'll need another one to discuss and comment on the consquences of this great folly.

Obviously the trade deal cannot be as good as being part of the EU, how could it. But having left the EU it is not a bad deal upon which to build a different relationship with the EU and allows us to strike out on our own. The CEBR having reconfirmed that the U.K. is still the 5th largest economy, above India in 6th and France in 7th is forecasting that the U.K. economy will be 20+% larger than France within fifteen years. Instead of the usual scorn on here, the younger posters should be thanking the older leave voters for their foresight, intelligence and perseverance.......
Such a laugh. Thought my sides would split

No it isn't. It's still an estimate based on cause and effect.

You are dismissing "educated guesswork" on Brexit because you are dismissing the consequences and hoping for the best.

Another analogy - it's like letting someone - anyone - throw a knife at an apple on your head because it's only guesswork that they could miss. They don't know for sure, so why not give it a go and hope for the best.

The problem with that approach should be obvious. But Brexit supporters like you completely ignore it because if the knife miraculously does hit the apple, you get blue passports back. Hurray.
I'm not a brexit supporter. I'm a realist now. We had a vote which we shouldn't have had. The majority voted to leave. I didn't. We have had 4 years of argument. We have a deal now. Let's get on with it now.
Keep quoting experts. They make their best informed guess on matters they are expert on. Are they right. Sometimes. Are they wrong. Sometimes

I stay away now mission completed listened to Ed Davy on LBC - still fighting the Brexit referendum four plus years ago ...... A pathetic politician -we have a free trade deal documentation needed - ideal for stopping illegal smuggling.......
The lib dems are pathetic. They were holding out for another referendum for several months while May was trying to get a deal over the line. Fantasy stuff.

Will there be shorter queues at the food banks or a solution to homelessness, or the availability of affordable/social housing, or better provision for the disabled? Do these issues not matter as long as Brexit happens?
Seems to me that people don't give a flying feck as long as it doesn't affect them.
Sad state of affairs.
But bozo is funny.

No mate. You are a previously banned poster who believes that we can rejoin the Eu at a later date if things don’t work out as easy as emailing the site owner a grovelling apology.
That last paragraph though lol

Then we can all finally get round to concentrating on Covid?

Seems to be the concensus.

A lovely quote from Boris in the Sunday Telegraph

“All that’s really saying is the UK won’t immediately send children up chimneys or pour raw sewage all over its beaches,” he said.

Rees-Mogg wants to know when “immediately” ends as he has an army of orphans champing at the bit to take this Brexit opportunity
