The utter state of this. Embarrassing AF.
Hope we send Tommy ten names, fartage, and Pob out in a dinghy with a shotgun
The old tory adage...when in trouble, start a conflict to divert attention...
Do we know the nationality of the fish in question? Don't want any forrens in our waters

So he's not allowed an opinion then? How the hell do you know who he voted for?
Weren’t you a trump lover?

I don’t care who he voted for, there is only Republican or Democrat and they have both now. No I am not a Trump lover, I think he’s an idiot. His only redeeming feature was that he liked the U.K. My comments in the US threads were more about trying to get a balanced view as I hated to see Americans torn apart over him.......

not true pete, Peel have been trying to bring additional trade in well before Brexit. But to do that you have to convince shipping lines to change routes, which they are very sceptical about doing so.

It’s why Terminal 2 isn’t 30% operational after being open for 4 years

You will know this far more than I, but U.K. ports are woefully under-utilised in comparison to ports in Europe. That’s because they can drop off at Rotterdam and travel onwards to the U.K. The amount of TEU’s dropped off at our ports in comparison to the % of trade done by the U.K. is a joke. I take your point about Shipping lines changing routes, but a No Deal may actually force their hands, which is why I believe Liverpool will regain port work......

This is what it would of always come down to are we stupid enough to threaten war with Europe or our politicians humiliate themselves backtracking , its lose lose situation.
At the end of the day, with effect from 1st January, the UK is not part of the EU, and unless otherwise agreed EU fishing boats have no legal right to fish in UK waters. If they don't continue to there won't be any problem. If they do, ideally it should be down to the French and other EU authorities to police their own fishing fleets and then the UK won't need to get involved.

If they don't, then we either let the EU boats break International Laws, or we intervene. If we intervene then our police force doesn't have the capability or the equipment to do this effectively, so it has to be the navy.

All that's happened so far is that naval ships have been put on standby in case French fishing boats break international Law and their own authorities do nothing to stop them. You make it sound as if our naval warships will be patrolling up and down the English Channel from January 1st.

....with guns and missiles pointed at Calais .....

Surely not ? Newspaper headlines rejoicing in the despatch of gunboats to repel pesky French fishermen.

The full song sheet is on display there, Union Jacks, Haddock, Rule Britannia and Macron’s fish thieves.....

It’s just embarrassing, Unfortunately there’s probably loads more to come, as Johnson and his media mates accelerate operation lie through your back teeth into overdrive, over the coming weeks and months.

As negotiating tactics go, threatening to use weapons of war is clearly a masterstroke of mature diplomacy that will surely gain us much sympathy amongst all the EU members......

why lump Biden in there with the other two dimwits.
actually, from tears of reading your posts, Biden seems like your ideal politician.
@peteblue ideal politician is a feckless idiot dressed as Churchill, telling jokes at a boozy after dinner speech - insulting the home nations, the Irish and proclaiming that the world was better run when it was under the whip hand of the English - oh and they look like Ester McVey.

The sabre rattling headlines of the Mail and other like papers are totally irresponsible, but I've come to expect nothing less from our gutter press.

Naval boats are on standby to police a potential situation if called upon. Nothing wrong with that and hopefully the EU (French) fishermen will opt not to break International Law so there won't be any incidents.
