There are most definitely people, largely I would suggest on Twitter, who have somehow built up in their mind a notion that the EU are entirely a force for good and beyond criticism.

You may not have seen them, but they exist.
I work extensively with the EU and they're far from perfect, and frankly, the request that the UK abide by EU standards in perpetuity (with obviously no say in those standards) is a crazy idea that they must surely have known could never be accepted. There are also the obvious issues around Hungary and Poland, and the horrendous camps in Greece that are out of sight, out of mind.

So I'm not blind to their faults, but still think they are trying to do the right thing, and the world would be generally better off if it was more EU than less.

Fine, it’s all our fault, the EU are wonderful......
It’s not that either, but this is our mess. Why are we in this position over 4 years after the vote. Your boys were championing the easiest oven ready trade deal in history.
We’ve been lied to every step of the way by political opportunists and we’re still trying to blame the Eu. It’s an embarrassment

Woaahhh hang on, I posted days ago about my mate, he works as security at the road king truck stop which has been bought out.... well at least until December 31st. Someone else has since posted a link to the story... try again sunshine.

I looked that up on the map the other day when you mentioned it and guessed it was that place. Will they still not require security ?.....

They’ve made all current staff redundant, rumour (and admittedly it is rumour) they will bring in already trained and vetted staff of their own to begin with.

Unfortunately any deal requires two parties to agree and the EU are acting like the aggrieved party in a marriage going through divorce. It can be done the easy way, and it should have been tbh, or it can become a destructive process, which unfortunately seems to be what it has become....a shame but that’s where we are....

I could be wrong here, but haven’t the Eu agreed deals with us previously?
