The Japanese have yet to ratify the trade deal with the UK in it's own Parliament. It might well decide not to if the UK Government breaks the withdrawal agreement and thus cannot be trusted or Japan being unclear of what's going on might just postpone ratification...

Good point. I also see more details are starting to come to light. Saw something about the Japan deal being worse than the EU for state aid restrictions. That was after I saw a bit on the Andrew Marr show saying that although the French and Germans do a lot more state aid than us, its available to us and we don't use it.

I am still impressed they got this far in terms of speed, even if very similar to the EU deal. Having a little understanding of how it works, the complexity is nuts.

Again was that part of project fear, the accusations that a Brexit government would just implement existing EU trade aggrements wholesale, then try and spin it as, look at what we can do! And here we are!

Couldn't tell you Sir, but would suggest it highly logical given those classifications already exist, that they will form the basis for most of the agreements. As I said before, successful negotiations don't make successful deal, for that there needs to be demand.

I honestly can’t understand how anyone who actually voted for Brexit, sold on the litany of lies that have since unravelled like a Primani T shirt after 3 washes, can still actually truly believe that there’s sunlit uplands just over the horizon.

Literally every supposed positive has been shown to be untrue, from ‘not one job will be lost’ through to ‘we’ll get a great deal, maybe even better than the one we already have’.

The problem with Brexit is Brexit. It’s the most pointless act of National self harm in history.

I think the whole thing is so stupid, and so repeatedly caked in lies, that those who fell for it and voted Brexit are now to embarrassed to admit they were wrong.

Then you’ve got the xenephobes and bigots who would happily see the country become a rubbish dump just so they don’t have to hear any foreign accents or see any black faces.

Would that make you happy or sad ?.....

So, according to you, Leavers are a bunch of mugs who couldn’t make up their own minds and are now too frightened to speak up. Oh, and if they do speak up then they must be xenophobic , bigots and racist.....

Whereas Remainers are fully informed, balanced individuals, who didn’t fall for any of the guff from the Remain groups and are the most open and welcoming people in the country. Funny enough, none of the posts by this intellectual and charitable group seem to reflect such a high moral position. To me they just seem like a bunch of moaning, whining, anti U.K. and pro bureaucracy zealots, who ignore referendum and General Election results and who would rather the U.K. suffer during and after these negotiations at the hands of the EU in order to claim some form of ‘victory’ on the Internet.

Personally, I don’t mind you clinging to your views in the misplaced belief and hope that somehow the U.K. will fail. Please just stop being so bloody miserable about it......

I never said that about Remainers. It says a lot about you that you often resort to changing the argument in order to try and ‘win’.
The leave campaign repeatedly lied about what it could do and what it would do. You voted for that. Johnson and the Tories are lying and backtracking on a deal that they told people to base their GE vote on. They are liars. You got conned by them. You have never shown close to a sound argument as to why you voted leave except for ‘get behind Britain’ or similar nonsense.
Do you still have faith in Johnson? Do you not mind that he, and the Tories lied, repeatedly?

And considering you’ve previously said German politicians follow in the footsteps of the Nazi party I am not going to feel too bad about calling a lot of Leavers Xenephobic.

I want it to fail cos I want to see rees Morgue and the backers of brexit lose a lot of money. I know they will pass their losses onto the rest of us and I hope that that then causes huge civil unrest leading to the overthrow of Eton school and the whole class system, born into privilege bs.

Well, there was some research out last week showing that after every pandemic for the last 150 years or so, there has been an increase in social unrest in the aftermath. Given the tinderbox we're already sitting on, and both the US elections and whatever happens here on the 1st January, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't see things happening here.
