So somewhere, within the UK, we will have some border of some sort. Otherwise, free movement of people and goods between the UK and EU will remain.

I mean I may be thick, but 4 years after asking how this circle can be squared, to me, its as complicated and well, impossible, still.

pete we’ve done this dance a thousand times if we don’t have a border somewhere how do we control movement into the country , how do we prevent the free movement and immigration from the EU From both EU and non EU citizens into the UK and mainland Britain ?

That’s not taking back control , it’s laughable to suggest we’d have better control of our borders in these circumstances. I accept that for you immigration wasn’t a huge issue but it was for many on your side of the debate and to then simply pretend it’s no longer an issue seems bizarre .

International trade isn’t really an area I have much knowledge on , like most things really , but wouldn’t WTO most favoured nation mean we’d need a border as well ? Or face litigation.

No, WTO just requires appropriate documentation (computer) and forms from the originator to the recipient. There is no need for a hard border....

Point remains though; the deal that Johnson signed off is now not any good. His words, not mine. And because of that, his Government will break the law, fundamentally damaging future trade deals, due to the dilution of trust in our Government.

I would not back breaking the law, but this is not all black and white ..... I also agree there will be howls of faux outrage regarding trust, but remember, this is still a negotiating position and if the EU push us to an unacceptable No Deal, then I would be very upset if we hadn’t taken the route he now is to protect the U.K....

The mainland will have immigration control In the same way that if people want to move from London to Belfast,Belfast to Dublin, Dublin to Paris, there would be immigration control in Paris.

There is immigration control between NI and England, or Scotland come to that? Ok.
