I would posit that any immigrant would have the skills to find a job. Indeed, the very notion that you would move to another country without believing that would be so is frankly absurd. Yet we have a government that is reducing immigration considerably, and responsible for the creation of a hostile environment towards immigrants. Which part of that is open and welcoming to you? When it came to those whipping up hatred at Dover versus those pleading tolerance, which of those most aligned with this government do you think? Which Home Secretary has been boasting about the number of refugees she has expelled in recent weeks?

Openness my 'arris.

What would you put in place ?....

No mate, it was a joke remark to Bruce about one of his replies, which you then decided to take umbrage about and turn it into some outrage about free speech, and have now escalated it further into a supposed suppression of individual freedoms.....
No umbrage. Just surprised that you were advocating someone not reading particular newspapers only a day or so after (quite rightly) underlining the importance of a free press.
I took your remark lightly and responded lightly. A few posters saw that it was intended as an amusing reply. But you had to try and have the last word as ever and now you’re grumpy about it. Never mind.

And as I've told you, you've copied and pasted an entire Guido Fawkes on this forum in the past. So forgive me if I'm sceptical about that.

if you type in a question into the Internet, various answers come back, some of those answers come directly from the originator and some come via third parties. If I have copied and pasted part or all of an article I usually identify where it has come from first (BBC, Telegraph, Guardian or wherever). So let me say this once again, I have never deliberately sought out an article from this Guido Fawkes, nor have I ever read or even searched for something called Guido Fawkes. Obviously however I will now have to do so if only to find out what the hell you keep going on about.....

It's something you 'remembered reading' but managed to quote word for word. Hope that helps.

Hai! I live in a country that has a political party currently in power who's only policies are to loot the treasury and remain in power. So I have experience here. IMO Johnson is trying to negoitate the worst possible deal possible so the Scots leave the UK. Its an easy way to eliminate a large mostly liberal voting block.
I have no clue on the stats, but would have thought the inception of the snp makes Scotland much less influential in who sits at number 10

For all 8 billion people, including those like ISIS who would do you actual physical harm or perhaps those more interested in criminality, rather than just wanting to live in a small country with a housing shortage ?......

That's a silly argument Pete. The government extended an invite to all 3 million citizens of Hong Kong recently, and aside from the bizarre lack of any objection to that from Farage and his far-right drones (why do you think that might be?), the very notion that all 3 million are going to arrive at Heathrow is ridiculous.

Regarding your second point, practically all terrorist attacks or potential attacks on British soil have come from British nationals.

The head of Britain’s domestic intelligence service has warned that homegrown Islamist extremists inspired by Isis propaganda remained the biggest threat to UK security

So no, I'm not at all worried about criminals coming here, especially as all of the evidence suggests that immigrants are less criminally inclined than natives.
