Not so, I would personally deliver the bullet to those deserving of it....I‘ve had to sack a lot of people in my time, many not deserving of it, but required nonetheless. I’ve also had to sack a number of senior people fully deserving the bullet, and while it’s never nice to do so, if it’s for the good of the company and it’s people it has to be done......I would have no problem having this conversation with Williamson.....

When was the last time you didn't vote for the Tories?

Pete sacking people not deserving of it: ‘well it was required’

Pete sacking people who do deserve it but are senior: ‘I’m so so sorry, it’s not nice doing this. Please forgive me’

Clement Attlee.

I do find it peculiar how so many Labour supporters accuse Blair of war crimes, yet give Attlee a free pass on the complete balls up he made of partition in India, and of a similar balls up in the departure of Britain from Israel. A million people died during partition alone, with some 15 million displaced, yet it's all brushed over.

Attlee inherited a bankrupt country decimated by 5 years of war. However unfortunate, overseas commitments inevitably would have taken second place. Attlee got things back on track, including founding the NHS, even though rationing continued into the early 1950's. Eventually, the Tories inherited the benefits of much that Labour did.

And Blair achieved much domestically too, but is still defined by and large by Iraq. You've just glossed over the million or so that died as a result of partition, and the bungled departure from Israel that has caused two generations worth of conflict in the region. Not judging either way, I just find it interesting.
