A government of all the talents.

He fits into the the authors of Britannia Unchained, who incidentally are in key UK Government ministries, and Johnson is known fan... They basically see the average UK working citizen as over paid and over protected and see China Labour policy as much more productive...

And quelle surprise!

For far too long, politicians and the heads of our public services have gotten away scot-free for any shambles they have created, while senior people in the private sector always pay the price of failure with their jobs. This will no longer be possible nor acceptable, someone has to pay the price. Recently that cretin Williamson has clung to his job, but at least one or two quango or department heads have paid the price (even though they will no doubt pop up again somewhere within the public sector). We need renewal throughout the top layers of our public ‘servants’ and Politicians, who have progressively become more useless as each decade goes by......
Will no one think about the poor senior people in the private sector? FFS!

Yet you keep supporting and voting for the governemt that, by your own reasoning, is full of the worst politicians we have ever had?

He’s just another government employee. Of course you can get rid of him, just Vote in another government and they can sack him, Now explain how you could get rid of any EU officials.....

This is a quite boggling bit of rational. The EU has officials that work for the elected body, the British Government has officials that work for the elected body. When we vote for our representatives in either case we are voting for their decision making in approving members of the European Commission.

Unless you believe in hyper local governance and 100% democracy for every position I'm not sure what the difference is.

I'm fairly sure Britain has more unelected people within government bodies than the EU does

I was wanting to answer this but couldn’t be bothered in the end. Britain does indeed have more unelected officials in government than the Eu.
The EU, with about 33,000 civil servants, is dwarfed by the British government, which employs over 400,000

Deluded...you have no grasp of either politics or the civil service....just greedy business tax avoiding "captains of industry"...selfish beyond belief

I’m sorry my friend, I try to be respectful in every reply I make to yourself, even though I usually get some form of abusive response from you, such as the above. In future I will treat you with the same respect that you show myself.....

Pete wants the option of voting out those he deems incompetent, not to actually exercise that right o_O

Not so, I would personally deliver the bullet to those deserving of it....I‘ve had to sack a lot of people in my time, many not deserving of it, but required nonetheless. I’ve also had to sack a number of senior people fully deserving the bullet, and while it’s never nice to do so, if it’s for the good of the company and it’s people it has to be done......I would have no problem having this conversation with Williamson.....
